in IT years ago, we ran multiuser systems on PC networks for years without connectivity problems, yet QB has always been finicky to set up, and unreliable for us.Is it just me, or is this something that anyone else has managed to get working reliably? Thanks for any suggestions. 2 comments × Close Why do you want to report this? Later, however, after everyone was out of QB, one user encountered a (-6129) error when attempting to open QuickBooks, so I tried to open it on my machine and got a (-6177,0) error. I went to the server, deleted the .ND file, rescanned the files with the QB Database Server Manager, and things worked again.Note: The server is Windows 2008 Small Business Server, all of the workstations are late-model Windows 7 machines. We run Microsoft antivirus software on all machines. It is a wired network, with only 10 devices on it. One thing: The QB files are in a DropBox directory for backup (only); we never access it other than from the local network. I have moved them to a non-DropBox directory as I found a few suggestions via Google that this could be a problem. If so, it might be nice if it were mentioned some

Spam Profanity Threats/Abuse Inappropriate Virus/Danger Broken Links Other Answer Hi Jhirsch29! Good that you were able to check first our knowledgebase articles. All the steps there https://community.intuit.com/questions/791943-error-6129-0-can-t-open-qb-files-on-new-computer were helpful but since it all didn’t work on your end, I can still help you with other options. :) You said you have your back up copy, and I understand that you don’t want to screw that up as well but we might need to restore that in order for us to know if the file you’re opening last time is a bad copy of file or corrupted. We can have another copy of good file which is your Auto Data Recovery file that we can use in case we don’t have other good copy that you can work on. I would suggest if you can restore your back up first on the Server and save it on the shared folder so you can open it on the other workstation and see if you’ll receive the same error. I hope your back up will be restored successfully so you can get back into business. :) If not, then I’m still here to help you more with the issue. Was this answer helpful?
