The event log says: An unexpected error has occured in "QuickBooks: EasyStart Edition": DMError Information:-6176Additional Info:We were unable to obtain the IP address this was probably caused because the file is on a distributed file system. The help information to resolve this error indicates the problem can occur when the data file is on a different computer than the software. However, in my case they are both located on the same hard drive. The error occurs both when trying to open the file from within Quickbooks and when double clicking on the .QBW file from it's folder in explorer. Thanks in advance for any suggestions or advice. One would think it knew the address it was trying to save the new file too! I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Quickbooks but still get the same error. Thanks for any advice. Try creating it in the My Documents folder instead of the QB install folder. Just other info. "QuickBooks: EasyStart Edition" CANNOT open files from older versions of QB! _
