A maximum of 3 people use Quickbooks. All have all rights to the QB files and directory.Quickbooks will quickbooks error code 0 work for weeks at a time, then one day we come in and can't open QB because of a (-6129,0) error. So I delete the .ND file, point the QB DB server at the QB file directory on the SBS Server, and most of the time, things start working again, though I occasionally get (-6000) errors of some kind which I also need to resolve. Eventually, I get things working again. It's a real pain.Lately, we have been going through this quickbooks 2016 error -6123, 0 on a daily basis, and frankly, I'm very tired of it. If you are on a network the most likely cause is a network problem where it cant find the computer or server that holds the file. The other possibility is that the file is corruptedCopy the file from where it is to my documents on your c: drivethen right click on the new file in my documents and select renamechange the quickbooks error code name to something simple while leaving the .qbw extensionthen right click on it and select propertiesmake sure that it is NOT set as read only or system or hiddenthen open the quickbooks in safe mode byholding down the ctrl key while double clicking on the quickbooks icon to open itthat should open the quickbooks in safe mode with no company filego tofile / open companyand browse to my documents and select the file.If the quickbooks opens but the new company file still wont openYou can try doing a verify and rebuild on ithttp://support.quickbooks.intuit.com/support/Articles/HOW12158or using the company file diagnostic toolhttp://support.quickbooks.intuit.com/support/Articles/HOW12723If those do not work you need to restore a backup If the quickbooks will not open even in safe mode you need to reinstall the quickbooks softwareQUICKBOOKS CLEAN INSTALL INSTRUCTIONStry doing a clean install with the instructions on this page. Mr. Clark is online now What does error code (-6129,0) mean I cant retrieve a quickbooks Resolved Question: What does error code (-6129,0) mean? I can't retrieve a quickbooks file and this is the stated reason each time I try. Submitted: 5 years ago. Category:Financial Software Share this conversation Expert: Mr. Clark replied5 years ago. Hello. Welcome to JustAnswer, a paid global support company.I can't tell you why the error occurs but I've had this happen multiple times. Make a copy of the original company file (highlight, right click Copy and then click off of it, right click Paste). Then right click the copy version and rename it. Enter a 2 after your company name. Now attempt to open it.If it opens, go back and delete the original version. After you have deleted it, in Quickbooks with the "2" version, go to File -> Save, save it as the original name. Then close Quickbooks.I've also had QuickBooks not allow me to delete the first one right after I created it. I would logout, close QuickBooks, and the try deleting it. If it still doesn't work. Reboot your computer. Let me know if you need further assistance.
