Click OK to close the application.happens when you try to start an application compiled against RTI dotnet libraries in a system where the "Visual Studio® 2005 Service Pack 1 Redistributable Package MFC Security Update" is not installed.The underlying cause is that the system is trying to find the "microsoft.VC80.CRT" file, provided in the mentioned Security Update. You can see the following error in the Application Log:Activation context generation failed for "...\nddscd.dll". Dependent Assembly Microsoft.VC80.DebugCRT,processorArchitecture="x86",publicKeyToken="1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b",type="win32",version="8.0.50608.0" could not be found. Target server is 2008 R2 with .NET Framework 3.5.1, Visual C++ 2005 and 2008 installed. I re-installed C++ 2005 and 2008 and that seems to have done the trick. Not sure why that would matter, the problemoccurredon 2 different 2008 R2 servers. The image must of had a corrupt c++ components. If it is XP, try to install the latest service pack (SP3) and updates for Windows. If that is part of what you meant when you say "transferring the app", then check back. Submitted by Alexis Wilke on Fri, 02/04/2011 - 16:49 application Articles debug development error GET library Linux missing MS-Windows not operating system Unix version On MS-Windows, you get really strange errors and at times some of those errors are difficult to fix. The error 0xC0150002 means that a DLL could not be loaded and thus the software could not get started since a piece of it was missing. The only solution is to "close the application" (since it wasn't really started, closing it sounds a bit funny here.) There are several ways to find out about the problem. In Visual Studio, the output should tell you what is happening and that a library could not be loaded. However, many times, low level libraries will not be displayed in the output window. The solution, because it is written somewhere... is to go and check out the event log in Windows. That will give you the exact error. Restart your software and see that it indeed creates a new error and see what file is missing. One of the most usual error is a missing debug library. Somehow, MS-Windows needs a huge amount of debug libraries to run a debug version of a software... Linux may not give you any debug information, but a debug version works on all my L
