Thread Status: Not open for further replies. Advertisement christinekmoon Thread Starter Joined: Jun 24, 2010 Messages: 2 I had to perform a recovery on my Windows XP system. I am trying to reinstall QuickBooks http://support.quickbooksexchange.com/dll-file-error-while-installing-qb-pro/ 2009 Not for Profit software. I have been researching and working on this for hours and I keep getting the same error 1304 error writing to file "intuit.QuickBooks.fcs.exe. When I press "retry" I get error quickbooks error 2350 server error, then finally error 1334 intuit QuickBooks fcs exe can not be installed. QuickBooks worked fine on the computer before the recovery process. Since my computer is fairly old (2002ish), I reinstalled all the Microsoft XP updates, up to and including Service Pack 3. I also installed the update to the Microsoft .net framework 2.0 file. In my research I've found the others that have had this problem quickbooks error 1304 and the techs suggested repairing the Microsoft .net framework 2.0, which I've done. There have been some suggestions about uninstalling then reinstalling the .net file, but I am really uncomfortable doing that - The software vendor sent me an e-mail indicating that all the files need to be uninstalled even if the computer crashed in order for the new installation to happen. The suggestion was also made on a thread to update the windows installer. I tried to do that, but the program told me that it was unnecessary to do so since I installed service pack 3. Also, when I being the QuickBooks InstallShield Wizard, I get a message from the overwrite protection indicating that "the following file is already on your computer: c:\Docume~1\HP_Admn~1.XX\LOCALS~1\Temp\Premier\QBooks\)x0409.ini Do you wish to overwrite this file. A series of files will come up if I say "no" so I have been saying "yes to all" Could this be the problem? I've spent every spare moment trying to unravel this puzzle and I could use a (smart) friend right now! Thank you! christinekmoon, Jun 24, 2010 #1 christinekmoon Thread Starter Joined: Jun 24, 2010 Messages: 2 The computer was purchased in early 2007 - I had a lapse there and got carrie
