Error 61686 may also be displayed. Why this is happening This may be caused by a damaged Framework.xml file. How to fix it Intuit recommends more than one solution for this problem. The first solution may solve your problem, or you may need to try all of them to resolve the issue. For best results, perform the solutions in the order shown. Solution 1: Use the QuickBooks Install Diagnostic Tool Run the QB Install Tool Solution 2: Replace the existing Framework.xml installation file with an edited version: When installing QuickBooks Desktop from a download: Access the Windows Temp folder On your keyboard, press Windows + R. Enter %temp% in the Search field, and press Enter. Locate and open the folder with the same name as your version of QuickBooks, such as Pro, Premier, or Enterprise. Note: If you are unable to locate the folder, run the installation file again until the Welcome to QuickBooks screen shows, and then cancel the installation. The folder should show in the %temp% directory now. After locating the installation folder, open the QBooks folder. Right-click the Framework.xml file and select Rename. Rename the file to Framework.old. Download the new Framework.xml file: Right-click this link. Select Save Target As and save the file in the same folder as the Framework.old file. Go back to the installation folder (Pro, Premier, Enterprise, etc.) and run the setup.exefile. Note: If running the setup.exe file does not begin the installation, try running the QuickBook
