Why this is happening QuickBooks Desktop now uses a secure (SSL) connection to connect to and download from the Intuit update servers. There is a problem with the SSL or Security settings on your computer. How to fix it Correct the Security settings in Internet Explorer Open Internet Explorer. From the Tools menu, choose Internet Options and click the Advanced tab. Scroll down to the Security section and uncheck both of the following options: (see screenshot below) Check for publisher's certificate revocation Check for server certificate revocation Once both of these items are unchecked, click the OK button to close the Internet Options screen.
