This issue can occur for several reasons: The network connection is lost. Firewall or other network settings are preventing QuickBooks files from accessing the necessary ports. The QuickBooks network data file (*.ND) is damaged or missing. The host computer went into Standby or Hibernate mode, causing the connection to the the company file to be disrupted. Multiple instances of the QuickBooks database service are running. The company data file is damaged. The QuickBooks installation files are damaged. We recommend you attempt the following solutions in order, retrying QuickBooks each time. Verify that other programs or resources stored on the host computer are available. If not, restarting the computers might resolve the issue. Note: If restarting the computers consistently resolves the issue, you might have an ongoing connection problem on the network. Because of the complexity and variety of both wired and wireless computer networks, Intuit cannot provide support for your network configuration. Please consult with your system or network administrator (if you have one), the vendor who set up the network, or a local computer consultant to troubleshoot connectivity issues in your computer and network environment.
