message seen in the job log is: Sybase Open Client error: ct_connect(): directory service layer: internal directory control layer error: There was https://www.fileopen.com/products/troubleshooting-faq an error encountered while binding to the directory service. Cause This issue is caused by the Sybase Open Client being unable to find the database server name. This is typically provided in the Sybase client interfaces file. Resolving the problem Sybase documentation states http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21649864 that the default location of the interfaces file is the directory pointed to by the $SYBASE environment variable. Please ensure that the interfaces file exists in this directory. This interfaces file must also have the proper permissions so that the operating system user running the DataStage job can read this file. For details on the format of the interfaces file, please reference Sybase documentation or consult with your DBA. Put all the environment settings in a .bat file, and then (in the .bat file) kick off sqladv.exe. share|improve this answer answered Sep 2 at 10:35 RobV 1,232135 Could you please let me know what settings should I put there ? I tried with the above settings in the bat file but it didn't work for me. –Praveenks Sep 2 at 13:33 there should be a SYBASE.bat file in your 12.5 directory. This should contains the settings you need. –RobV Sep 3 at 10:52 add a comment| Your Answer draft saved draft discarded Sign up or log in Sign up using Google Sign up using Facebook Sign up using Email and Password Post as a guest Name Email Post as a guest Name Email discard By posting your answer, you agree to the privacy policy and terms of service.
