Error code: 85010004 First seen in Sophos Mobile Control 3.5 Cause This error occurs if the device is not compliant with the expected settings on the server and the device has not synced for more than a day. Possibly the device did not trigger the automatic https://community.sophos.com/kb/119512 sync or the phone was unable to connect or contact the server due to network problem or settings. What To Do As soon as you sync the device the problem should be resolved. In settings/company apps for smc there is an action to sync with the server. Note: For Windows Phone 8.0 devicesa sync can only be triggered from the device (either automatically or manually) and not by the smc server. On your device: Open 'Settings' and on the 'system' list (default) scroll down to 'company apps'. Select 'company apps' and then select 'Sophos Mobile Control'. At the bottom of the screen select the sync button: Wait for the sync to complete. You should allow a few minutes for the server to respond to the sync and the device to comply any new settings. You can then attempt to access your email. What to do if the error keeps occurring If the steps above resolve the issue for a while but after a day or two the issue returns enable the advanced Wi-Fi option that keeps the Wi-Fi connection active even when the screen times out: Open 'Settings' and on the 'system' list (default) scroll down to 'WiFi'. Select 'WiFi' and then select 'advanced'. Check the option 'Keep WiFi on when screen times out'. Mailboxes have been moved, public folders replicated, etc. Now I've moved on to completing cutover of our WM5 devices. A little backgroud sync error first... in 2003 we were running FE/BE setup, with OWA and exch activesync pointing to the front-end, and all mailboxes located on the back-end. Also, both 2003 servers are running SP2, and have had no problems with direct push email using SSL (self-signed). Now I have moved all of our mailboxes to the 2007 box, which in all other aspects is working great. But now if I point my device (only testing active sync error mine at this point) to the new server (after installing the new cert on my phone) I get: "Your account in Microsoft Exchange Server does not have permission to synchronize with your current settings. Contact your Exchange Server administrator. Support code: 0x85010004" Fortunately, my 2003 FE server is still allowing all of my users to sync their devices as the FQDN and cert on their phonesare still valid. I've checked the settings in EMC and the mailboxes are enabled for Exchange Activesync. I've even run the script to enable it again (successfully) in EMS. I know 2003 had some funny configs for virtual directory security, etc. to get EA working in some enviornments; is that the case again in 2007? Any help on this would be greatly appreciated! But I've seen similar issues with migrated users, where the solution was to delete the partnership using the EMC. Does a partnership show up for your device? _____________________________HTH Henrik Walther Lead Moderator/author MSExchange.org Follow me on Twitter! If you are getting these messages in Event Log: User "domainnameadministrator" cannot synchronize their mobile phone with their mailbox because Exchange ActiveSync has been disabled for this user. And on your Windows Mobile phone have error code 0x85010004 It's probably because you're trying to use the administrator account to test with! This is not supported under Exchange 2007/2010 as the administrator does not inherit permissions in AD which makes it hard to give it activesync rights. Use a user's account instead! If this is not the case, then try one of two things (I found this normally happens when migrating from 2003 -> 2007/2010 - never seen it with a fresh install) Remove and recreate ActiveSync Directory (use Exchange Powershell) Remove-ActiveSyncVirtualDirectory -Identity "Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync (Default Web Site)"New-ActiveSyncVirtualDirectory -Server "xxx" -WebSiteName "Default Web Site" -ExternalURL "http://www.xxx.com/Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync"
or for a single server deployment New-ActiveSyncVirtualDirectory -WebSiteName "Default Web Site" -ExternalURL "http://www.xxx.com/Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync" Use the powershell to give the user ActiveSync rights Set-CASMailbox -Identity
