stable 25.x Starred by 12 users Reported by n...@pervetica.de, Feb 22 2013 Back to list Status: WontFix Owner: ---- Closed: Mar 2013 Components: Services>Sync OS: Windows Pri: 2 Type: Bughttps://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=177806 > Via-Wizard Sign in to add a comment UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64) AppleWebKit/537.32 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/27.0.1420.0 Safari/537.32 Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Remove Chrome Dev, download and install latest Chrome stable 2. Sign in to sync (using password AND an application specific password) 3. "Error signing in, could not connect to server" What is the expected behavior? It should log in and sync error sync data What went wrong? It's loading forever or says that it could not connect to the server. Did this work before? Yes Chrome version: 25.0.1364.97 m Channel: stable OS Version: 6.1 I am unable to use sync in the latest Chrome stable. I previously had Chrome Dev but I removed it because I wanted to use the stable and canary build of Chrome only. So, I chrome sync error installed Chrome stable, entered my user credentials and my application-specific password. And it looks like it's loading. Sometimes I even get an error message like "Error Signing In" or "Could not connect to server" but most of the time it's loading forever. No way to sync. I do also have the latest Canary build installed. Sync is working excellent there. No problems at all. I wouldn't care if I could set Canary as my default browser ;) Anyway, I read suggestions like "go to Google Dashboard and stop sync and delete data" but it does not change anything. I click on "delete all data" and wait a couple of minutes but the status does not change. "Chrome Sync: Nothing interesting here" it says always on Google Dashboard". First I thought the sync is broken but it makes no sense when I can sync using Canary?! I also created a new user profile in Chrome stable, deleted the old one, deleted the new one. Tried almost anything. Chrome stable chrome://sync/ shows: Summary: Uninitialized Client Version: Google Chrome Windows 25.0.1364.97 (183676) m Server URL: https://clients4.google.com/chrome-sync Client ID: Uninitialized Sync Token Available true Canary chrome://sync/ shows: Summary Sync service initialized Clie
