But by using this technique non-identical sectors are detected. exact audio copy read error sync error If an error occurs (read or sync error), the program keeps on reading this sector, until eight of 16 retries are identical, but at maximum one, three or five times (according to the selected error eac peak level recovery quality) these 16 retries are read. So, in the worst case, bad sectors are read up to 82 times! But this effort will help the program to obtain the best result by comparing all of the retries. (possible) read error occurred. The program also tries to correct the jitter artefacts that occur on the first block of a track, so that each extraction should be exactly the same. On drives which have the "accurate stream" feature, this is guaranteed. Of course, this technology is a little bit more complex, especially with some CD drives which implements caching. When drives cache audio data, every sector read will be read from the drives cache and is that way always identical. Basically there are several ways to clear the cache. In newer versions it will overread sectors, so that the cache contains sectors from a position elsewhere on the CD. Advertisement / Anzeige EAC has several secure read modes, depending on the features of the drive. One really fast mode (nearly burst mode speed) is for drives with C2 error pointer support, accurate stream and are non-caching. Another mode (up to half of maximum speed) is for non-caching, accurate stream drives (without C2 support). If caching need to be defeated, the secure mode will be much slower, when no read errors occur it will usually something around a third to a fourth of the drives maximum speed. This program is really quite slow in secure mode in comparison with othe

Exact Audio Copy Sync Error
error 29 May, 2014, 11:10:05 AM Hello. I've tried looking for answers to this but haven't exact audio copy secure mode come up with any solid answers. I've started ripping my CD collection with EAC and I'm about 12 CDs in and have already encountered eac test and copy 2 CDs where EAC gives read and sync errors on one or 2 tracks. Neither CD has visible damage, both play just fine in a CD player and as best as I can tell, the rips sound just fine http://www.exactaudiocopy.de/en/index.php/overview/basic-technology/extraction-technology/ at the suspicious positions. One of the 2 discs was in AccurateRip and the track with the error could not be verified, but the log file stated that CUETools could repair the rip (incidentally, is this recommended and, if so, how do you do it?); the other disc was not in AccurateRip. I've tried 3 different computers with 3 different drives and I've also tried XLD on Mac with one of the discs and I never got an error-free rip. https://hydrogenaud.io/index.php/topic,105909.0.html Since the CDs appear pristine and sound fine in a CD player I'm just wondering what could be causing the read and sync errors, and if there is anything else I could do to try to get an error-free rip or if I should just move on. Thanks in advance. mjb2006 Hero Member Joined: 12 May, 2006 Posts: 1,144 Logged EAC read error, sync error Reply #1 – 29 May, 2014, 02:58:31 PM Since it appears pristine but won't rip on any drive you've tried, the disc probably has a manufacturing defect that exceeds the capability of the disc's built-in error correction system. When the player or ripper encounters the trouble spots, it's fudging the audio data as best it can, and in this case it's close enough to be listenable. Some players and drives will be more tolerant of this disc than others. You can try experimenting with the ripper's settings; e.g., burst mode, and don't let the drive slow down... but in my experience, if several drives won't rip it, there's not much you can do.In CUETools, make sure the input mode is Folder Browser. http://cuetools.net/wiki/CUETools_Settings may be of some help here; you need to avoid "batch mode" which CUETools won't tell you is enabled. Navigate to the .cue file (I think a drag'n'drop of the file will also navigate there automatically), and choose Encode action with the "repair" script selected (not "default") and also c
