Did the update/upgrade and trying openvas-scapdata-sync http to use OpenVAS. I have checked the BT Wiki for OpenVAS and followed the steps. I created a user, certificate, and can connect to a client. However, the problem is with OpenVAS NVT. When I run the NVT, I get the following error: Code: [i] This script synchronizes an NVT collection with the 'OpenVAS NVT Feed'. [i] The 'OpenVAS NVT Feed' is provided by 'The OpenVAS Project'. [i] Online information about this feed: 'http://www.openvas.org/openvas-nvt-feed.html'. [i] NVT dir: /usr/local/lib/openvas/plugins [i] Will use rsync [i] Using rsync: /usr/bin/rsync [i] Configured NVT rsync feed: rsync://rsync.openvas.org:/nvt-feed rsync: failed to connect to rsync.openvas.org: Connection timed out (110) rsync error: error in socket IO (code 10) at clientserver.c(122) [receiver=3.0.3] Error: rsync failed. Your NVT collection might be broken now. I have checked the forums, Wiki and the video about OpenVAS - but can't figure out the solution. Any inputs? Thanks. 02-28-2011,12:17 PM #2 Archangel-Amael View Profile View Forum Posts Super Moderator Join Date Jan 2010 Location Somewhere Posts 8,010 Re: openvas NVT and Rsync Try to resync, make sure your internet connection is working first though. If that does not help
[ thread ] [ subject ] [ author ] Hi Randy, if the sync worked fine you should find your NVT's in your plugins folder. on a debian it's "var/lib/openvas/plugins". I typed "openvas-nvt-sync" at the command prompt and got the following: NVT dir: /var/lib/openvas/plugins Will use rsync Using rsync: /usr/bin/rsync Configured NVT rsync feed: rsync://feed.openvas.org:/nvt-feed Rsync: failed to connect to feed.openvas.org: Connection refused (111) Rsync error: error in socket IO (code 10) at clientserver.c(124) (receive) Error: rsync filed.
