These network connections an unexpected error occurred windows 10 are my only two network connections, and every time I try to bridge them, I get an error saying "An unexpected error occured while configuring the network bridge." I've looked all over the place, trying to find an answer, but haven't found http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_vista-networking/error-message-that-comes-up-when-creating-a/4ab8f2e3-3bcc-45b9-80c2-90d0c9646fe9 anything. Neither connections are set as my ICS connection. I have also tried this: http://cheatppc.blogspot.com/2008/07/unexpected-error-has-occured-while.html but Windows didn't rebuild the WMI repository, and anyway I just reinstalled Windows a few days ago. I also looked at this: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/309640 which is not the problem I'm experiencing. I am out of ideas. Help? abowar, Jan 21, 2010 #1 Sponsor TerryNet Terry Moderator Joined: Mar 23, 2005 Messages: 71,861 I don't know, but the following (taken just before you attempt the bridge) may give us https://forums.techguy.org/threads/an-unexpected-error-occured-while-configuring-the-network-bridge.896324/ a clue ... Start, Run, CMD, OK to open a command prompt: (For Vista or 7 type CMD in the Search box after Start) Type the following command: IPCONFIG /ALL [Note that there is no space between the slash and ALL.] Right click in the command window and choose Select All, then hit Enter. Paste the results in a message here. If necessary use a text file and removable media to copy the results to a computer with internet access. I don't even know what a network bridge does. But now, the icon is irritating me, and I want to get rid of it, but it won't let me. If I try to delete it, it tells me "An unexpected error occurred while trying to configure the Network Bridge". If I try to disable it, "It is not possible to disconnect at this time. I've tried looking every where to find what the problem might be, but nothing seems to help. Yes, I have the ISC box UNchecked, so that is not the problem. Thanks in advance. Update: When I right click to uninstall one with a yellow exclamation point it refreshes as if it is deleting it, but it's still there. Also, when I type "cd c:\system32\wbem\repository" all it says is "The system cannot find the path specified." Update 2: I've disabled it, and it has stayed disabled but it still won't disappear. Bridge didn't work after it was disabled, and I tried running in safe mode to delete it but it did the exact same thing as before. Update 3: Apparently it wasn't an important one. I should have just done it in the first place, but I uninstalled the program which it was involved with and it disappeared. If the driver wasn't the thing preventing me from bridging, I'm not sure what is. It still refuses to let me. Update 4: Also, I forgot to mention that I have bridged my connection before and it worked fine without any errors. This was a few months back though, and since then the only thing that has changed was I got a new router/modem, and my computer has done a few updates. Update 5: The only thing in
