Windows Setup Encountered An Unexpected Error
I always get the following error statement while copying temporary files or just as "Setup is starting" is displayed: "Windows Setup experienced an unexpected error. To install Windows, restart the installation."Restarting https://community.norton.com/en/forums/auto-protect-experienced-unexpected-error-303512-0x000003ee the installation results in the same error message. Any ideas on what's wrong? Here are some details:My computer is a HP Pavillion DV2415US and meets all hardware requirements.I downloaded two 32-bit ISOs from the Microsoft site (not from another location); here is the specifics about both files:Name: 7000.0.081212-1400_client_en-us_Ultimate-GB1CULFRE_EN_DVD.isoSize: 2.43 GB (2,618,793,984 bytes)md5 checksum: f9dce6ebd0a63930b44d8ae802b63825I am running Windows Vista Home Premium SP1 with the latest https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/windows/en-US/d8ac783b-310e-43a3-8388-bceee8fae5ac/cannot-install-the-windows-7-beta-windows-setup-experienced-an-unexpected-error?forum=w7itproinstall MS patches applied.I have burned four DVDs - using different packages (the last two copies were with ImgBurn at 2.4x, the slowest speed supported by my burner), all yielding the same error message.I ran the Microsoft® Windows® Malicious Software Removal Tool (KB890830) - nothing found.Norton Internet Security 2009 is OFF.I have cleared temp files prior to, and between installation attempts. There are no error codes associated with the error message. All similar posts I have seen keep pointing to a "bad" DVD... but I have burned numerous (30 or more) disks from ISOs over the past couple of years, with NO problems in the past. I also noted some posts that question SATA drives (which my laptop has), but it seems others have successfully installed the beta on SATA drives.I'm at a loss at to what's wrong... and any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!
