has multiple users, but only one user - one user! - gets the above error whenever he tries to run the program. For everybody else, there are no problems. His process: 1. Log onto the server. 2. Log onto the application Sage 300 ERP v6. 3. Launch the reporter program. 4. Punch in the parameters required for the report. 5. Hits OK. 6. Windows launches Excel, presumably passing tableau uncaught object object the parameters to Excel. Excel appears on the user's screen. 7. The error message appears, and pointlessly waits for the user to click on OK. The title bar simply reads "Error". 8. User clicks on OK. 9. Excel then runs as normal, produces the report, closes Excel and returns the user's focus to the reporter program. All of the other users on thesameserver run thesameprocess, except that they don't get #7 or need to #8. All of the users use the server via terminal server/remote desktop. Our IT policy requires the installing ofnoWindows updates until we know how each update affects the server's service. The idea of unbricking a server is not our idea of fun. The last cumulative update was KB3000850 installed on 18Nov2014. This one user has to use Sage's macros to automate the report production process. The macros are a series of commands to launch the reporter, pass parameters to it, run the report, save it, close the instance of Excel and undefine the object within the macro.
