Windows Update Error Code 8024000e
Home Premium 64 5 posts Windows Update fails in Update Check. Error code C80003FA. Hello, I recieve error C80003FA whenever I do a Windows Update run. It doesn't get past the stage of checking for updates. I've tried several fixes including: - Waiting 15 minutes and running Windows Update again. - Letting Windows Update run on its own schedule. - c8003fa error SFC /Scannow - Renaming the Catroot2 Folder. - Running 3 different Fixit tools. - Clean windows install. After each and every one of those fixes I've tried windows update and I still get error C80003FA. SFC Scannow has previously said no errors, but the last run through it said there were unfixable errors. I've got the log, though for brevity's sake I will keep it until someone asks for it. Any ideas? Thanks. How to Solve Persistent C80003FA Windows Updates Error FrustratedHPUser2014 asked Mar 6, 2014 | Replies (6) Replaced a MB and HD in a HP 8300 PC, then tried to reload Windows 7 from recovery CD, from Retail Win 7 DVD, from Vol license Win 7 DVD, from image of another 8300 -nothing works. We can load the OS but no updates will occur. I tried the Microsoft suggestions, they didn't work. Very frustrating! I suspect some kind of Microsoft or HP anti-piracy something but I don't know what. Windows will activate on all the product keys we tried (above) but no updates... I can’t say it will work in this particular case, but it may be worth a shot. 1. Go to this site http://www.microsoft.com/resources/h...s/default.mspx and click on “validate now”, follow any steps it prompts you to do. 2. Run “services.msc” and ensure that “Automatic Updates” Status is set “Started” and Startup Type is set to “Automatic”. Hopefully it works, I understand what a pain in the A$$ this can be. If any thing else comes to mind I’ll post back. Good luck. Edit: I just noticed that very nice overclock, try knocking it back to stock speeds and try updating again. This was another solution that
