Windows 7: Error 1317 help 14 Oct 2014 #1 craigmh Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit 10 posts windows installer cleanup utility Ohio Error 1317 help All, I'm hoping you can help me. I'm trying to install either Microsoft Office 2007 or Microsoft Office 2010, but every time I'm hitting a road block. When the download is 3/4 https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/872903 complete I get an error: "Error 1317. Setup cannot create folder C:\ProgramData\Start Menu\Programs. Verify that the path exists in your system and that you have sufficient permissions to update it." The problem is I have no folder that matches the path. The only Start Menu folder I have is in ProgramData is: C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs. So far this is what I did. 1. I changed the permissions in C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs 2. I ran RegUtility 4 Still.....error.
