Windows Server 2003 server that I'm getting the following error: Window Title-Feature Transfer Error Error -1601 The Windows Installer error 1719 windows installer service could not be accessed windows 8 service could not be accessed. This can occur if you are running Windows in Safe Mode, of if the Windows installer is not correctly installed. Received this error when trying error 1719 windows installer service could not be accessed windows 2008 r2 to update HP's Library and Tape Tools software. Tried to re-register, checked registry settings, etc. All looks good. Any ideas? If yes then this is the cause of the issue. Start your Windows using Normal startup and check results in this case. Another possible cause is that Windows Installer is not correctly installed. (MSI) Windows Installer (MSI) Error Messages Everytime I try to install Office 97, Publisher 2k or any msi install.. I receive this http://www.itninja.com/question/msi-error-1601 error. When I check in the event viewer, it says "MsiInstaller : Failed to connect to server. Error code 0x80070005" Then the windows installer will stop, and I have to go and restart it. I downloaded the MSI installer from microsoft and tried that, no success. I have Windows XP pro SP2. Its a novell 6 network and windows installer running zenworks. This also happens when I try to run it from the NAL. This is happening on 2 different machines so far, tried everything from microsoft.com. It also comes up with an error "The Windows Installer service could not be accessed. Contact your support personnel to verify that the Windows Installer service is properly registered." Stumped.. any help appreciated.
