First, this is my boss' computer, but as I'm much more computer literate than he is, I've been told to try to fix it. When he came in to work this morning and turned on his computer, he started getting a lot of pop up messages, such as: "The application or DLL C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\MSVCP71.dll is not a valid Windows Image. Please check this against your installation diskette." Since I've never seen this message before, I decided to turn to BleepingComputer. I read the opening topic directing me to download and run DDS, and I will copy and paste those reports. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. I have a Toshiba with Windows Vista and lately I keep getting a window come up with this message every time I try to open up a new programme or window. This is the message I get when I open Google Chrome for example: chrome.exe-Bad Image C:\PROGRA~1\Google\GOOGLE~3\GOEC62~1.DLL is either not designed to run on windows or it contains an error. Try installing the programe again using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the software vendor for support. I can't afford to take it to a computer shop to be fixed or get Microsoft to do it so it would be so great if you could guide me through what I can do to fix it. I'm doing my exams and essays for final year at Uni at the moment so this computer hassle is the last thing I need! Thank you in advance!
