I have an HP laptop running Windows 7. Been running on Windows 7 for the http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/278630-45-image-error past 3 months and it used to work great (a great feat by MS for introducing the world to Win7) !! Anyways, i dont know what happened, but when i right click on My bad image comp to go to control panel, i get the following error: Window Title = Control.exe - Bad Image C:\Windows\WinSxS\x86_microsoft.vc90.atl_1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b_9.0.3072 9.4148_none_51ca66a2bbe76806\ATL90.DLL is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the software vendor for support. Now i did search for any similar type of errors faced by other users in bad image error this forum, and found at http://www.howtogeek.com/forum.....replies=12 but it was for Windos Vista. I did try the sfc /scannow command from the above post and my system showed the following: Beginning verification phase of system scan. Verification 100% complete. Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them. Details are included in the CBS.Log. When I try to open that file, it says Access Denied. I am logged in as the administrator. Please HELP !!! I dont want to reinstall my OS because I have important programs and files present on it. That would be my last resort.
