Then remove the ; before extension=php_curl.dll around line 656 Restart apache For this to work, make sure php is set as global variable, if not got to D:\wamp\bin\php\php5.2.5 (path can change on ur computer) from the command line & run the code share|improve this answer answered Jul 31 '13 at 7:37 charles 22134 add a comment| up vote 5 down vote Try running php.exe --re curl to make sure curl is enabled/available for php-cli, too. Make sure that cli uses the same php.ini as the one in your webserver, otherwise it might be necessary to enable curl there, too. share|improve this answer answered Jul 1 '11 at 9:22 wonk0 6,48611212 This works. any website in Windows or Linux (Ubuntu) like: Fatal error: Call to undefined function curl_init() then here is a simple and easy solution, for http://www.webtechquery.com/index.php/2010/03/fatal-error-call-to-undefined-function-curl_init-windows-and-linux-ubuntu/ both Windows and Linux (Ubuntu) users. For Windows If you are having the error Call to undefined function curl_init() in Windows, then you have to simply modify a line https://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=598877 in apache's php.ini file. Goto your wamp folder, which would be like: D:\wamp\bin\apache\apache2.2.6\bin\ And open the file php.ini If you are unbable to find the folder of file call to as mentioned above, or if you are using some other server in Windows, then simply find the php.ini file located under apache folder (and not php folder), and open it in a text editor. Find the text extension=php_curl.dll and remove the semi-colon at the start. Now that line would look like: extension=php_curl.dll (without semi-colon on start) Save the file, call to undefined and restart your Apache Server. And the problem is solved. For Ubuntu (Linux) If you are having the error Call to undefined function curl_init() in Ubuntu or Linux, then you have to simply install php5-curl to make this problem resolved. Simply goto: System -> Administration -> Synaptic Package Manager And find the package or software as “php5-curl“ or php curl and install the CURL module for PHP. After successful installation, restart your Apache Server with the following command: sudo /etc/init.d/apache2 restart And the problem is solved. Or Or goto gnome-terminal, and write the following command: sudo apt-get install php5-curl (if php5 is not the latest php version, then find the latest php curl package and install it) After successful installation, restart your Apache Server with the following command: sudo /etc/init.d/apache2 restart And the problem is solved. I have created a small test script to pinpoint the problem but am now stuck: admin@declan:/var/www/research$ php5 testcurl.php Fatal error: Call to undefined function curl_init() in /var/www/research/testcurl.php on line 3 admin@declan:/var/www/research$ The script was copied from: http://au2.php.net/curl_init I have checked phpinfo and curl is enabled. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Edit: When I run testcurl.php from the browser it appears to work but not from the command line. So what I am suspecting is that phpcli is not working witrh curl etc whereas php is. Maybe a recent upg or similar has removed the curl extension from the php.ini file that is used by the cli, however I do not know where this ini file is located...
