Php Imagecreate Not Working
1 down vote favorite 1 I'm trying to making a Captcha code, and I read some tutorial online. So, I have copy/and paste this function : create_image(); exit(); function create_image() { //Let's generate a totally random string using md5 $md5_hash = md5(rand(0,999)); //We don't need a 32 character long string so we trim it down to 5 $security_code = substr($md5_hash, 15, 5); //Set the session to imagecolorallocate in php store the security code $_SESSION["security_code"] = $security_code; //Set the image width and height $width = 100; $height = 20; //Create the image resource $image = ImageCreate($width, $height); //We are making three colors, white, black and gray $white = ImageColorAllocate($image, 255, 255, 255); $black = ImageColorAllocate($image, 0, 0, 0); $grey = ImageColorAllocate($image, 204, 204, 204); //Make the background black ImageFill($image, 0, 0, $black); //Add randomly generated string in white to the image ImageString($image, 3, 30, 3, $security_code, $white); //Throw in some lines to make it a little bit harder for any bots to break ImageRectangle($image,0,0,$width-1,$height-1,$grey); imageline($image, 0, $height/2, $width, $height/2, $grey); imageline($image, $width/2, 0, $width/2, $height, $grey); //Tell the browser what kind of file is come in header("Content-Type: image/jpeg"); //Output the newly created image in jpeg format ImageJpeg($image); //Free up resources ImageDestroy($image); } But when I try to call it, I get this error : Fatal error: Call to undefined function ImageCreate() in C:\Program Files\Apache Software Foundation\Apache2.2\htdocs\gtw\registration\createCaptcha.php on line 19 What's the problem? I've read all about it online, but none of the solutions are working for me. I have the following line of code in a file: Code: $bimage = imagecreate(100, 100); Which is causing this error: Fatal error: Call to undefined function imagecreate() in C:\Apache\htdocs\openbrush\index.php on line 151 I've enabled php_gd2.dll in my php.ini file: extension_dir = "./ext" extension=php_gd2.dll The dll is in the php ext directory. I've stopped Apache and started it again. It still doesn't work. phpinfo() says: cscript /nologo configure.js "--enable-snapshot-build" "--with-gd=shared" What could be wrong? I'm using Apache 2.2.4 and PHP 5.2.1. I've gotten the GD2 libraries to work on other systems in the past. localhost80.com 250+ resources for web developers. I've looked around for a call to fix with very little help, PHPGD has no download links and the php site that says to do --with comes back saying there is no command . I've put in each php.ini ;extension=php_gd2.dll I have no idea now how an earth to fix it , im running latest CentOS Thanks AllHostOne.co.uk, May 23, 2011 IP mobileappdoctor Peon Messages: 4 Likes Received: 0 Best Answers: 0 Trophy Points: 0 call to undefined #2 I may be missing something but remove the semicolon in front of the line. Semicolons mean ignore this variable which means if it looks like you listed above the GD library is never loaded. mobileappdoctor, May 23, 2011 IP Sefrez Peon Messages: 26 Likes Received: 0 Best Answers: 0 Trophy Points: 0 #3 It still sounds like PHP GD is not properly being loaded. You should not get a fetal error like that for any other reason than when the function is undefined. EDIT: Oh, I believe mobileappdoctor is right. Remove the semi colon. The semi colon is telling that line to be ignored. I have Apache's DocumentRoot set to point to the sample folder in this repo. When I visit the index page, no QR code is displayed, and I see this in the logs every few seconds: [Mon Jan 19 06:04:38 2015] [error] [client 192.168.200.1] PHP Fatal error: Call to undefined function ImageCreate() in /vagrant/src/qrcode/phpqrcode.php on line 985, referer: https://sqrl.dev/ Are there some dependencies I'm missing or something? Gary Marriott & Jürgen Haas member jurgenhaas commented Jan 19, 2015 Sorry for that, it appears that this QR code library requires the GD extension for your PHP. On a Debian system you could install that with apt-get install php5-gd and then restart Apache. I'll have a look on if and how we can make that more reliable and/or to provide alternatives. 501st-alpha1 commented Jan 22, 2015 That did the trick, thanks! 501st-alpha1 closed this Jan 22, 2015 Sign up for free to join this conversation on GitHub.
