know the application works, as Ive been developing and modifying it for a while now. Im trying to get it running on my Linux desktop so editing will be easier. My server setup:-Apache2 on Linux (Ubuntu)-PHP 5.3.2-PostgreSQL 8.4PHP IS CONFIGURED to use postgres, I know thats the most obvious thing that stands out with this problem, but I did configure PHP fatal error call to undefined function pg_connect() wamp with:'./configure' '--with-apxs2=/usr/local/apache2/bin/apxs' '--with-pgsql=/opt/PostgreSQL/8.4/'and in phpinfo It has a section for "PostgreSQL Support"; and if I run php -m pgsql is on the list of installed modules. I can use other PG commands, and can connect to a postgres server and such. This function doesnt work though.Im completely baffled. If it makes any difference, I had PHP 5.3.1 installed earlier, and I got this error; then I downloaded/compiled/installed 5.3.2 to see if it fixed it, but it didn't.Thanks, any help appreciated. Check that the extension is uncommented (does not have a ; infront) if it is not uncommented, uncomment it and restart the server. Did I assist you? I am new to working with both PHP, servers and databases, but I get the following error message. Fatal error: Call to undefined function pg_escape_string() in /opt/lampp/htdocs/imageability/SkjemaDatabase.php on line 551 So it seems to me to be a problem with PostgreSQL. The same error message shows up for pg_connect(). I have tried a few things to get PostgreSQL to work with XAMPP, like uncommenting the following lines in my file php.ini and then restarting call to undefined the server, without success. extension=php_pdo_pgsql.dll extension=php_pgsql.dll I have also read you can try to copy the file libpq.dll to Apache folder, but I don't seem to have this file at all (searched with find). Can this be the problem? I have also tried downloading Apache2, PHP5 and PostgreSQL seperately, but this doesn't seem to help me, as I in this case just get a blank page, without an error message even. The PHP files I am using are fine and working for other people and I can also get other PHP files to work on the server. Grateful for any help! server php postgresql xampp share|improve this question asked Jul 4 '15 at 7:29 Ingrid 781115 add a comment| 1 Answer 1 active oldest votes up vote 2 down vote accepted My recommendation: Don't use XAMPP for this! It's supposed to be a simple way to get the usual Apache, MySQL, PHP, +Python/Perl stack to work. Leave the walled garden and your pretty much on your own… Also: Even if you do get it to work there is no guarantee that it won't break the next time your system or XAMPP itself. This use-case is not supported by anybody and some of the components involved (especially PHP) aren't designed to handle modules not compiled for their specific version. Resolve run-time error on php is quite easy, the only thing you´ve to do is just read: The message is saying than there´s an error on the line 76 from your php code, so i´d go to the php code page from codecharge and see what happens on line 76, furthermore it says "call to undefined function pg_connect()", problably you´re calling to this function with an object than hasn´t been created. Check it out your code from the start. _________________ Best Regards Entrepeneur | NT Consultant masterpiece Posts: 5 Posted: 06/02/2010, 4:58 PM Quote CodeChargeMVP: Quote masterpiece: Fatal error: Call to undefined function pg_pconnect() in E:\AppServ\www\hostsearch\db_pgsql.php on line 76 There are several lines giving error in the file db_pgsql.php are that are calling for connection error. I resolved it was my bad I was running the project in appserv which is for mysql I just moved my projects in postgres to to the local apache server installed by the packet of postgres. ------ The next stage is to figure out how to connect that project with the database online and to figure how could I call that form to an existent application step already online, which needs a dependent list to pick country then host and save it the choosen to other database. Is there a way to call a PHP form from other php file, if any of you k
