Extracting from $_SERVER['HTTP_USER_AGENT'] is just the OS name of the client's machine. It is not what call to undefined function json_encode in codeigniter I want. I tried php_uname() echo 'Operating System: '.php_uname('s').'
'; // echo PHP_OS; echo 'Release Name: '.php_uname('r').'

'; echo 'Machine Type: '.php_uname('m').'

Operating System: Linux Release Name: 2.6.32-431.29.2.el6.x86_64 Version: #1 SMP Tue Sep 9 21:36:05 UTC 2014 Machine Type: x86_64 I want to know it is Fedora, CentOS or Ubuntu, etc. Is it possible? I have also tried posix_uname(), but got an error. Here's a mythtv ticket on the issue:http://www.gossamer-threads.com/lists/m … its/388774It suggested manually patching mythweb, but I prefer not doing that. Another suggestion was to use the php-process package on Fedora. Any idea https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=81140 what this now corresponds to in Arch, if any? 1, 2011 I prefer Ubuntu Server for my personal projects, but at $work https://jontai.me/blog/2011/12/rpm-forposix-php-extension/ (for various values of $work) it's usually RedHat/CentOS. http://cooker.moondrake.narkive.com/vfR6edGH/bug-1040-php-new-posix-support-doesn-t-work On one of the newer CentOS boxes, calling posix_getuid() returned PHP Fatal error: Call to undefined function posix_getuid() That was new to me, since the POSIX extension is enabled by default when building from call to source, and it is included in Ubuntu's core PHP package. I started hunting around for a php53-posix package, since most extensions are packaged separately. Unfortunately, there's no such package, and a yum search php | grep -i posix didn't reveal anything either. After call to undefined a few minutes of googling, I found that the POSIX extension is actually packaged in the php53-process package. This package contains the sysvshm, sysvsem, sysvmsg, and posix extensions. Tagged centos, error-messages, rpm Tweet Leave a Reply Cancel reply Your email address will not be published.
