This file is present in the same directory as the form is in. Now what I want is to show a message when the form does the operation successfully navigate back to page that has codeigniter redirect not working the form. Something like this: This is the page where I upload the file. Then on Upload button click, it goes to 'upload.php': load->helper('url'); $site_path = site_url(); $targetfolder = "doc_libraray/"; $targetfolder = $targetfolder . basename( $_FILES['file']['name']) ; if(move_uploaded_file($_FILES['file']['tmp_name'], $targetfolder)) { echo "The file ". basename( $_FILES['file']['name']). " has been uploaded"; return; } else { echo "Problem uploading file"; }?> The problem here is when I try to use siteURL() to redirect after upload success, it gives me a fatal error message. Not able to understand why? Any suggestions on how to achieve it? OR Is there a way to process the uploaded file on the same page itself? php file-upload url-redirection http-redirect share|improve this question asked May 8 '15 at 1:55 CodeKaro 4163923 add a comment| 2 Answers 2 active oldest votes up vote 0 down vote Yes, you don't need to call a separate file to execute the upload The code can exist in the same file, and then just execute it with something like: if (isset($_POST['submit'])) { ...code here } you can just either leave the action field in you

Error is fairly clear. Where are you creating this function? Do you actually want the header() function? –naththedeveloper Feb 17 '14 at 8:58 See this question for a lot of options: stackoverflow.com/questions/768431/… –Rob Starling Feb 17 '14 at 9:00 That means it couldn't find a function with a name redirect anywhere. Try using header("Location:iammobile.php") instead –asprin Feb 17 '14 at 9:00 add a comment| 4 Answers 4 active oldest votes up vote 5 down vote accepted Try with header like header("Location: iammobile.php"); die(); share|improve this answer edited Feb 17 '14 at 9:06 answered Feb 17 '14 at 8:59 Gautam3164 21.7k13757 Hi, When I used like this: if ($detect->isMobile()) header("Location: iammobile.php"); Then it shows Internal Serverour content. El Forum11-25-2010, 01:36 PM [eluser]Avril[/eluser] Hi, I'm making http://forum.codeigniter.com/archive/index.php?thread-36219.html a small login form for further use of my little https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VjdPYFTx-Gc project and I'm stumbling at an undefined function redirect, because I'm redirecting the user in both cases. Now, in this case the credentials of the login do validate (check within the model) and then it should redirect to call to my /includes/template, but I'm getting this error: Quote:Fatal error: Call to undefined function redirect() in /Users/avrilverhaeghen/Sites/myBudget/application/controllers/login.php on line 18 Code:
class Login extends Controller{
function validate(){
$this->load->model('membership_model');
$query = $this->membership_model->validate();
if($query == true){
$data = array(
'username' => $this->input->post('username'),
'is_logged_in' => true
);
$this->session->set_userdata($data);
redirect('homepage');
}else{
redirect('includes/template');
}
}
} I don't see what I'm doing wrong here, maybe the redirect is a helper or some kind that needs to be loaded? Thanks! El Forum11-25-2010, 01:51 PM [eluser]Avril[/eluser] Never mind, I found it El Forum05-20-2011, 02:12 PM [eluser]spaquet[/eluser] Was this "url" library not loaded or something else ? I do load the "url" library but I'm still facing the error so sharing with you might help me. El Forum05-20-2011, 02:14 PM [eluser]danmontgomery[/eluser] You need the url helper. Code: $this->load->helper('url'); CodeIgniter Forums > CodeIgniter Archived (from EllisLab) > Archived Development & Programming > Undefined function redir
