This error is 99% caused by local setup. Please put the server on a shared server or a kind of free host if really low, and i bet hmm will work. rgwhitaker @rgwhitaker 9 months, 3 weeks ago Then what's the purpose of XAMPP if you can't use it!? I just want to develop and edit-OFFLINE-a simple WordPress blog. Moderator keesiemeijer @keesiemeijer 9 months, 3 weeks ago It seems some files are missing from your WordPress install. What you need to do is download a copy of Wordpress, extract it into your htdocs folder (like you did with the theme), and then navigate to it in your browser. After setting it up (just follow the instructions), you need to place that theme in wp-content/themes inside the Wordpress install. Then, you can change the theme to your new one in your Wordpress admin panel. share|improve this answer answered Apr 8 '12 at 12:22 mrlee 2,1741025 add a comment| up vote 4 down vote You are doing is just accessing the theme file.Thats why the error is getting. Download WordPress again, and take the one file, index.php from its root folder, replacing the file you now have as index.php source share|improve this answer answered
