» 04/24/2014 Copy Function Cannot be Used during Deployment creation We have seen this case where customer create a deployment on http://beinginventive.typepad.com/being-inventive/2014/04/copy-function-cannot-be-used-during-deployment-creation.html a remote server. During the deployment creation, he gets this message the http://upandready.typepad.com/up_and_ready/2012/08/error-the-copy-functions-cannot-be-used.html copy function cannot be used. This means something prevented the deployment to copy the files from the local computer( or USB Stick) to the remote server where the deployment will be stored. In our case, it was the Autorun.inf in 3rd Party / SQL 2008 which is cannot be used for the Vault Client.Autorun can be blocked by GPO or Antivirus. The solution was to create the deployment on the local computer and then move the deployment to the remote server using this solution :http://beingcivil.typepad.com/my_weblog/2009/08/deployment-basics-part-2-moving-an-image.html Posted at 02:39 AM in All environments/entire product, Installation, Vault | Permalink Reblog (0) | | | Comments You can follow this conversation by cannot be used subscribing to the comment feed for this post. a deployment! Softimage Family: changing from Standalone to Network licensing Error: The copy functions cannot be used. 08/09/2012 In this case, an educational site was installing the Autodesk Design Academy 2013 and the following error came up during the deployment creation: The copy functions cannot be used.Failed to copy the following files: E:\3rd Pary to\\SERVERNAME\Packages\ACAD2013\AdminImage In this case, the solution is easy. The problem was that the deployment was started on a local workstation [Computer A] and was trying to create the deployment over the network on Computer B. You will need to have the instalaltion media on the actual server [Computer B] and create the deployment on the server [Computer B] using a Windows Remote Desktop Connection on Computer A.
