necessary for the Cluster Service to identify that it is a member of a cluster. Perform a System State Restore of this machine in order to restore the configuration data. While running the Start-DatabaseAvailabilityGroup “DAG Name” cmdlet which will add the “evicted” DAG members back into the cluster, the process fails with the error above. I noticed that the cluster service was set to disabled. Trying to start it manually failed. The error 1058 the service cannot be started computer browser following steps were taken to fix the issue.Make sure that the cluster files are excluded in the AV scanning. If not, exclude the folder (C:\Winnt\Cluster). I tried stopping the AV service to “unlock” the cluster files.Try a force cleanup of the cluster from the failed server. Run Cluster Node “ServerName” /forcecleanup from an elevated command prompt.Once the cleanup is successful, open Failover Cluster Manager and add the failed server manually back into the cluster. You can also try running Start-DatabaseAvailabilityGroup “DAG Name” –MailboxServer “FailedServer”. Event ID 1090 — Failover Cluster Configuration Availability Updated: November 25, 2009Applies To: Windows Server 2008 R2 The cluster configuration database contains essential information for the function of a failover cluster. A copy of the cluster configuration database is maintained on each node. If the quorum configuration for the cluster includes a witness disk, a copy of the cluster configuration database is also maintained on the witness disk. The Cluster service replicates the latest ver

When I try to create the cluster it passes all the validation checks as expected. Telling it to then create the cluster fails. The create cluster report shows: TextBeginning to configure the cluster **CLUSTERNAME**. Initializing Cluster **CLUSTERNAME**. Validating cluster state on node **HOST2**. An error occurred creating cluster '**CLUSTERNAME**'. The cluster node is already a member of the cluster To troubleshoot cluster creation problems, run the Validate a Configuration wizard on the servers you want to cluster. The cluster does not exist. I've checked AD & DNS, as well as running this command that only shows a different, unrelated cluster:PS D:\> Get-Cluster -Domain **DOMAINNAME**Name----**OTHERCLUSTERNAME** I did run the command Clear-ClusterNode on both hosts but no effect. The issue seems to be that the cluster service wont start, on either host. They are set to automatic:C:\>net start ClusSvcSystem error 1058 has occurred. The service cannot be started, either because it is disabled or because it has no enabled devices associated with it. I double checked that the role was installed to be sure and tried to start the service with powershell: TextPS C:\> Install-WindowsFeature -Name Failover-Clustering –IncludeManagementTools Success Restart Needed Exit Code Feature Result ------- -------------- --------- ------
