and and is a hobby camera, so has not been extensively used. Two days ago I was taking a couple of pics with a new lens, and the camera was working fine. Later that day I went to turn on the camera to look at the pics and the display screen wasn't working. When I look through the view-finder, I can see canon eos 1000d error 99 repair the exposure bar, and the ISO, but the word BUSY keeps flashing up. I can't manually adjust the ISO or exposure, but if I flick it from Manual to Auto, or even AV or TV, the ISO adjusts itself. The auto-focus is still working. It won't let me take any photos, and won't display anything on the screen. And before you ask - the battery is full, and memory card is mostly empty! If anyone has experienced this before, or has any suggestions, then I would be very grateful. Now, it won't take pictures at all. When I go to take a picture, it will act like it is focusing by flashing and such but it will never go through. It always says busy. I have tried all modes, and none will work not even without flash.I have also taken the battery out, taken the card out and reformatted it, and cleared all camera settings. Can anyone help? I have a newborn that I would really like to be able to capture. Thank you ahead of time! 11 people had this problem. I purchased my first DSLR a Canon 1000D a god few yeas ago and its been a good camera to me and I have learned a lot using it. I have purchased a few lenses and other items like flash, batteries, remotes etc. Turned it on the other night and it just says busy, tried everything people say to clear it but it finally seems as if its had it so I started to look for another camera to replace it, funds are tight to I was looking to get a used camera but I am stuck as to which is the best one to go for so wondering if anyone could help with opinions : 1. Must be a Canon so Lenses etc. all work I thought about just going for a 1100/1200 new but then saw some 650's about the same price, got about 350 to spend. Looks like it happens from time to time, probably you want more to upgrade but see this http://canonrepair.wordpress.com/2013/08/24/canon-1000d-busy-message-on-the-display/ Jul 21, 2014 #3 msward Member PeteRob said: ↑ Looks like it happens from time to time, probably you want more to upgrade but see this http://canonrepair.wordpress.com/2013/08/24/canon-1000d-busy-message-on-the-display/Click to expand... Thanks for that, only problem is I cant get it to upgrade as the menu on the back wont come on because of the error so manual SD card upgrade is a no no and it wont connect USB so I cant use the EOS utility to do it either !
