Normally, the USBscan.SYS file can be found in C:\Windows\system32\DriverStore\FileRepository\sti.inf_727905e0, you can copy the file to C:\Windows\Drivers and C:\Windows\Inf, then restart the computer to test the issue again. Click to expand... The cannon install needs to find USBscan.SYS ... worth a shot. draceplace, Aug 19, 201
everything to do with my previous Canon mp610 including drivers in case of possible http://www.fixyourownprinter.com/posts/75979 conflict but the new printer will not install. Get the error http://www.techsupportforum.com/forums/f109/canon-pixma-mx870-installation-failure-557203.html code 0001 and 0002. Long conversation with Canon support and downloading of new drivers off the canon website all to no avail. Same error code keeps coming up. Canon representative came to the conclusion there is something on my laptop preventing access to canon pixma the usbscan.sys file needed to install the printer. The file is there but the installation process can't find it. The advice was to wipe the laptop completely and start again. This seems extreme just to be able to install a printer. The printer loaded fine on my husbands laptop which is also Windows 7 but canon pixma error is brand new and has very few programs on it. Has anyone else had this problem and found a solution? Do not quite know where to look to see which program/application might be conflicting with the setup. Respond to this 0 Update. This morning I just connected the printer using the usb cable and lo and behold Windows found and installed the drivers and I was then able to install the printer software from the disc. It still would not connect wirelessly from the disc. This evening I went into adding a device to the wireless network and Windows again found the required drivers etc and I now have a printer working wirelessly. Hope this may help someone else. by Sally119 on Nov 7, 2013 at 2:58pm Add comment Please sign in to comment Please sign in to comment Canon Personal Copiers (PC) 7 Buy discount ink Buy this printer More Canon questions © Copyright 2011-2016, FixYourOwnPrinter.com, Inc.
