it was worth getting and playing with - you never know what the last guy knew and/or what he tried https://support.usa.canon.com/kb/index?page=content&id=ART137634 to fix it - maybe he didn't do anything. When it got here, I did some research and found that it was displaying a 5700 Service Error (ASF cam sensor error). The Service Manual suggests that the likely fix is to replace http://www.fixyourownprinter.com/posts/56875 the sheet feeder, but my research also found that it is not unusual for the sheet feeder to become unaligned, and that it can be adjusted back to health. But before I try BAB's instructions to readjust the ASF, http://www.fixyourownprinter.com/forums/inkjet/27412#1 I’m wondering if anyone else has had any experience with this Service Error? Are there other things to check, before I dig into this baby’s innards? Since this is a “sensor” error, is it possible that a piece of paper is blocking the sensor, or something similar? Thanks for your assistance.john Respond to this Please sign in to comment Canon Bubblejet (BJ) 5 Buy discount ink Buy this printer More Canon questions © Copyright 2011-2016, FixYourOwnPrinter.com, Inc. HELP Jan 28, 2010 #1 Archean TechSpot Paladin Posts: 5,680 +85 As you say it flashes orange light five times consecutively, that means there is a print head error. Reset the print head, then reset the printer. To reset the print head, make sure the printer is on. Open the paper output tray and top cover. Make sure the print head holder is in the center and open the inner cover. remove all the ink tanks. Raise the print head lock lever and remove the print head. Reset the print head and lock the lever. Replace the ink tanks.
