69 Trophy Points: 118 Location: The Netherlands Printer Model: Canon MG6150 Today, I picked up an IP5000 really cheap, because only the pigmented black worked. Hoping for a clogged printhead I thoroughly cleaned the head with windex and lukewarm water. Unfortunaltely, no good result. Did a cleaning and a deap cleaning cycle. No result. The pigmented black nozzle check is 100% perfect, the colors and photo black are nonexistent in the nozzle check (not even some strikes). Would it be a canon pixma ip5000 manual safe assumption that this printhead has passed away? Fingers crossed.. The Hat, Jan 26, 2014 #2 Tudor likes this. I'm pretty sure by now the YMCpB have free inkflow, as I was able to inject water thru the inlet hole and it came out on the other side (same as I unclogged my Pro9000: http://www.flickr.com/photos/48948862@N07/11034516526/). Would it still be worthwile to soak it for 24 hours? I really like this IP5000... Raising Resolved Question: canon pixma http://www.systeminsight.co.uk/Canon_Printheads_IP5000_QY6-057-000.htm ip5000 print head stuck in parked position. Raising cover does not result in motion. Error message is 6A00 Submitted: 7 years ago. Category:Computer Share this conversation Expert: David L replied7 years ago. Hello,Thank you for contacting Just Answer.I believe the canon pixma 6A00 error code is a mechanism jam code.Carefully remove the top covers to reveal the print head following the arrows on the covers (you may need a flathead screw driver to carefully unfasten the covers. There is a device that slides back and forth that serves as a squeegie for the printhead. When you turn the printer on and off it should move. If it tries to move but does not then this is most likely the cause of the error and canon pixma ip5000 is either stuck their due to debris such as a piece of paper or more likely gummed up with old ink. If you then nudge the mechanism gently while turning on the printer it should start to move and clear the error. You will then need to clean it so that the mechanism does not get stuck again.Let me know if you have additional questions or need further assistance. Ask Your Own Computer Question Customer: replied7 years ago. Did not see any screws on top cover. Manually slid print head assembly to the far left and cleaned ink smears on plastic surface that the assembly moves back and forth on. Removed print head and cleaned back and lower contact zones. Reassembled and turned on printer (with cover closed). Heard click (relay contact?). Opened top cover but assembly did not move. Light changes from green to orange and repeats????? Expert: David L replied7 years ago. So are the lights (alternating green and orange) different than before you cleaned it?Do you still receive the same error message? Ask Your Own Computer Question Customer: replied7 years ago. Same error message, same light signals--- no movement of print head asembly when cover is raised??????????? Expert: David L replied7 years ago. Ok, then next try resetting the printer: 1. Turn off the printer, push and hold the resume button. 2. Press and hold the power button. 3. Now let go off the resume button, but not the power button.

Canon iP5000 Printhead (QY6-0057-000) Don't throw your Canon iP5000 Printer away just because the printhead has failed, breathe a new lease of life into it by changing the printhead. Canon iP5000 The Canon iP5000 delivers professional photo quality plus business functionality. Benefits include ultra high resolution, ultimate speed, extensive photo features and productive work options. QY6-0057-000 Printhead The iP5000 printer uses a QY6-0057-000 Canon Printhead. Printheads are classified as spare parts and as such do not need to be replaced as often as the ink tanks inside the printer. Over a period of time the resistors in the printhead fail and the image quality deteriotes. When should you replace the printhead? The printhead does not need to be replaced each time the ink cartridges are replaced, only when print quality deteriotes and a head cleaning fails to resolves the problem, we suggest checking with Canon if you are unsure. Fitting the QY6-0057-000 Printhead. No special knowledge is required to fit the printhead and full detailed graphical instructions are included. Note: The printhead does not come with any ink tanks. Ink Cartridges The Canon iP5000 uses the following ink cartridges: BCI-3eBK, 6BK, 6C, 6Y, 6M. After Installing your Printhead You may need to perform a head cleaning routine after installation and the print head will need to be re-aligned, refer to your user manual on how to do this.
