But it indicates all the ink tanks, not only one.I wanted to copy a page, but when I pressed the copy button I got the error message. When I tried printing a sample page from my computer I got the equivalent error message on that. When I opened up the printer all the ink tank lights were out. I lifted and replaced each one and the lights went back on, but after I closed the lid and the reset process had run, the same message came up. I did this again, taking the tanks right out before replacing them. Same result.I visited the Canon support pages (http://www.canon.co.uk/Support/Consumer_Products/products/Fax__Multifunctionals/InkJet/PIXMA_MP_seri... and looked up the entry for this error message, which simply says to install or replace the affected tank. That's not much helpwhen it's all of them and even replacing a tank does not get it in working order. Something more seems to be wrong thanjusta dodgy tank.The521BK(black)tankwasalmostempty,soIchangedthat,buteventhattankdidnotregister.I'mbeginningtowonderiftheproblemliesnotwiththeinktanksbuttheprinteritself.

open the scanning unit. The printer cartridge carriage will move to the center. Open the inner cover securing the cartridge in place by pulling it downward. Press the tab on the problematic ink cartridge and lift it http://fix-your-printer.blogspot.com/2010/12/fixing-error-code-u150-on-canon.html to remove it from the printer. You will be able to tell which ink cartridge is causing the problem because its indicator light will be off or flashing. Open the replacement ink cartridge and pull the orange tape http://www.printerknowledge.com/threads/u150-error-unrecognized-cart-on-canon-pixma-mp970.2534/ in the direction of the arrow to remove the protective film. Tear the orange tape off along the dotted line. Place the ink cartridges into the printer and press where indicated on the cartridge until it clicks into canon pixma place. Ensure that all ink cartridges have a red indicator light showing that they are properly installed. Close the inner cover on the cartridge carriage and the scanning unit. The printer will automatically start a print head cleaning cycle. When the cleaning cycle is complete, the printer is ready to use. Solution 2: Put the little green circuit board from the old ink cartridge of the same color in the new cartridge. Libellés : Error code 3 canon pixma mg comments: novaitch said... Did not work. This is a Canon MX320 Pixma printer/scanner/fax machine. There have never been any lights lit on the cartridges before as there are no lights on them!!! May 22, 2012 at 7:26 PM Tomáš Beneš said... Solution No. 2 also doesn't work because it's impossible to remove the circuit board - it's too fragile and too good glued. On Canon Pixma MX360. November 27, 2014 at 11:44 AM Anonymous said... Solution 2 worked perfectly on my Canon 5220 and Canon 5320 both. Circuit is NOT glued, just pull it out with your nail, it won't break. Forgive me. I have a not-yet-four-month-old Canon PIXMA MP970 printer with all OEM cartridges. About a month ago, I started getting this U150 error that the BK cart was not recognized. The LED on teh cart was off but it was still nearly full! I reseated it, the LED came back on and all was well for a couple of days. Then the same problem occurred. This went on and eventually the PC cart was reporting the same problem while it was still nearly full. I contacted Canon support online and after following their instructions, the problem would not clear so they sent me new carts for free. That was a couple of weeks ago. Today, it started on the Y cart! The non-sponge side is about 60% full of ink. I'm hoping to get another replacement out of them, but this is annoying at best. They want you to buy their expensive ink. Fine. Then let me use it all before I have to replace the cart. I think they've made their ink monitoring system so complex that it screws itself up. Does anyone else have this problem? Is there any work around? Their effort to stop Canon owners from using aftermarket ink and/or carts has caused users of their OEM carts to have problems as well! Is it possible that enough complaints might cause them to stop this nonsense? Not likely. fotofreek, Mar 31, 2008 #2 Mar 31, 2008 NOTS3W Getting Fingers Dirty Joined: Dec 15, 2007 Messages: 13 Likes Received: 0 Trophy Points: 22 Location: House Springs, MO Well, Canon has responded already: "Thank you for contacting Canon product support.
