Turn off the printer and open the replacement ink compartment- move the inks holder far to the left- use a canon pixma mp830 print head torch to check where the inks holder home and you'll see that there is a sponge a tiny rectangular shape come loose -use the twiter and put back in place (holder). The sponge then drops back down when finished. The problem is that the sponge gets stuck up. Just give it a tap and it will fall down, turn off then on and all fixed.I would be willing to bet that the fake ink clogs it by design. I followed the instructions to reseat the ink holder home pad, and the 6A00 Error problem was resolved! In my case, it was not the actual sponge, but the white plastic sponge holder that needed to be pushed back into position aside the paper feed placket. My issue resulted from a paper jam that apparently dislocated the sponge holder when the crumbled paper was pulled through the paper feed. This is an awesome and invaluable forum for DIY printer repair. I was ready to run out and purchase a new printer, but decided to keep reading through the postings when I found the fix.
