telling you that it has a constant error on the PCI bus which is most likly a defective logic card. Power the unit off and then unplug the power cord and let it set for a few minutes and then unplug http://community.usa.canon.com/t5/Printer-Multifunction-Support/how-to-fix-error-6500-pixma-mp830/td-p/53817 the USB cable. Now plug it all back and turn it on and see if you get the same error. If you do,.. I think the only other thing you can try is to un-install the print driver and reinstall it again. by unknown on Jun 8, 2012 at 7:55pm Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 I just had the same thing happen on my mom's MP530 printer. It was printing a 36 page document, and was on page 16 http://www.fixyourownprinter.com/posts/73741 when the black ink ran out. Put a new cartridge in then just get the COPY and ALARM blinking lights with the CHECK PRINTER and 6500 error message. Tried unplugging for about 30 minutes, but still same error. by msetzerii on Jun 16, 2012 at 8:13am Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 msetzerii,...This is a PCI buss error. Pull out the power cord and the usb cable and restart your PC. Now plug everything back and turn the printer on. If you get the same error again. I suggest that you uninstall the printer and then re-install it. by unknown on Jun 16, 2012 at 2:53pm Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 Tried that and still get same error. Also, notice the heads do not move on startup. Error comes up as soon as on is pressed, so it may just not be getting the that part. Have the original MP530, but its problem was the PGI-5BK doesn't work. The printer test prints out the lines for the other colors and BK put the first ones for the Black prints nothing. Error come up with or without cartridges in printer. If I knew what part it was, I might be able to get one of the two working? Also, anyone know of a current model that uses the same ink, since we have a number of cartridges. by unknown on Jun 16, 2012 at 3:12pm Add comment Please sign in to commen

This worked slightly - the pgbk line on a nozzle check came out about 50% (just the top 1/2 printed). I figured I'd let it sit over in the parked position and see if it helped, but when I tried to print another nozzle check, the print cartridges/heads parked on the left side of the printer, and my screen flashed ERROR 6500 and the Alarm and On/Off buttons were flashing continuously. Nothing in the manual about error 6500, so I called Canon Customer service. They said to take it in for service to a local provider. Question 1: Service fee is $39.95 for diagnosing the problem (fee is waived if I have them fix said problem). Has anyone had this particular error, and can you tell me upfront if I'm going to be wasting $40 because the fix is going to be too expensive? I've already lost nearly $100 just in wasted ink trying to fix this, and don't feel like throwing more money away if I'm going to have to end up with a new printer anyway. Question 2: If a new printer is needed, what's the recommendation? I did a ton of research before purchasing this one and it fits my needs perfectly. I don't use the fax function (no hard line phone), but I scan, copy, and print. 95% of my prin
