Need to force a bit with a small screwdriver so that the lateral part breaks loose, but being careful not to damage anything. Here I saw above to the left a heap of wires, and I had one of it which was cut off. The wires go from the http://www.fixyourownprinter.com/posts/64872 heart of the printer to the hood of the scanner and while opening it (to change ink cartridges for instance) that forced some of these tiny cables to bend and break. Therefore repair the broken wire by stripping and twisting them back together and wrapping them in insulating tape and put the cable bundle back in place. Then close the scanner hood again, replace the screws and the printer is as good as new - saving the cost of sending it to the workshop which must cost about as much as the price of the printer. by deepspringer on Jan 24, 2011 at 3:32pm Add comment Please sign in to comment deepspringer. Thanks for that info. Did not work for me but again thank you for taking the trouble to reply. - dickymint 0 I can't tell about the error 5010, but Error 200 is common in canon machines, see details here:http://printerspecial.blogspot.com by jonton on Sep 28, 2011 at 8:44am Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 Hello, grncoupJust seen your message about error codes (b200 then 5010) on MP600 - from 2009! I wonder if you can tell me how you fixed the problem, and this has just happened to me. Thanks. by Glad4Trad on Jan 21, 2014 at 1:48am Add com
ran out, I replaced them with non-OEM cartridges that I bought on Amazon. I returned to the same seller next time, and again had http://www.fixyourownprinter.com/posts/73165 no problem with the cartridges. However, last time I got cartridges from him, the problems began. I needed to replace the large black first, but when I put in the new cartridge, although the printer seemed to recognize it, it just wouldn't print black. I left the printer idle for a few weeks, then went back to it yesterday to see if I could figure it canon pixma out. I tried another couple of the new black cartridges and removed the print head and flushed it out with warm water. I left it to dry for 12 hours. After I replaced the print head and ink, I got the error message "U052 The type of print head is incorrect. Install the correct print head." Removed print head, reseated it, inserted ink carts, powered on printer canon pixma printer and now briefly get the error message B200 followed by Error 5010, which I fear is the kiss of death. I've tried holding down the Power button with the Reset button when starting up but get the same result. Should I give up now? Respond to this 0 I have had this problem on my MX850 for years, Canon is no help - "Buy a new printer".The problem is a scanner error. Either the scanner cannot find the "home" position when the printer starts or it thinks it can't. I have mine attached to a power strip that I shut off each time I use the printer. It's the same as unplugging it only easier. As long as you hear the printer cycle when you start it, it will print error free from a computer every time. If you want to use it as a stand alone copier you'll get the error.
