Respond to this 3 I know this problem- The problem is inside the printer. canon 6a00 Turn off the printer and open the replacement ink compartment- move the inks holder far to the left- use a torch to check where the inks holder home and you'll see that there is a sponge a https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mYg0hFp1-88 tiny rectangular shape come loose -use the twiter and put back in place (holder). Hope this help by Anonymous on Mar 9, 2007 at 11:32pm Add comment Please sign in to comment This did the trick. Thank you so much! - unknown Hallo I have this code Error 6A00.Several times i try to on/off the printer......change the position of the printing head.....the cartridges.....Finnaly I find ..on the right (inside printer)...a small 1/4 cm rectangular http://www.fixyourownprinter.com/posts/39177 "hard sponge" in a unusual place. After another change of the position of the cartridges.... finnaly IT WORKS BUT I DON'T Know where I must put this small sponge again at this place !I expect an answer...merci - Anonymous There is a sponge to the right of the ink cart that gets pushed up to prime each ink cart. The sponge then drops back down when finished. The problem is that the sponge gets stuck up. Just give it a tap and it will fall down, turn off then on and all fixed.I would be willing to bet that the fake ink clogs it by design. When will these idiots realize that people will find a way around everything. If they dropped the ink price by a half, I would buy it. The money they loose adds up. I have refilled my carts 6 times so far, with one refilling kit. Add it up! - unknown worked!!!THANK YOU VERY MUCH - Anonymous Yeah! I followed the instructions to reseat the ink holder home pad, and the 6A00 Error problem was resolved! In my case, it was not the actual sponge, but the white plastic sponge holder that needed to be pushed back into position aside the paper feed placket. My issue resulted from a paper jam that apparently dislocated the

I thnk the 6A00 is a mechanism jam code.Regarding Error code 6A00. I have a Canon Pixma iP5000. I got that code. No easy answers on the net so I took it apart myself. The covers are all snap locked on. It was a bit painful but I got the side and top covers off to reveal the print head. There is a device that slides back n forth and acts like a window cleaners squeegie on the printhead. This mechanism seemed to be stuck at its full extention rather than being back at home base. Every time I turned it on and off I could see it tried to move but seemed to be stuck. I gave it a little assistance and that released it. I think it had become glugged up with drying ink and that had acted like a glue holding it out at full extension. The mechanism that drives the sliding squeegie relies on a spring for it to return. The spring wasn't strong enough to over come the gluey ink and so the whole thing jammed up which is probably what the code means - jammed mechanism. If you are going to try it. Do
Solution 1: Move the printhead carriage back and forth a few times. Solution 2: Check the purge unit: Moving the print head assembly will not clear a purge unit if its jammed with paper, paper clips, push pins, screws, cookie crisp, flower bud pods or the like. Solution 3: Press the ink pads down in the purge unit.
