It seems hard to put the disks into the camera like I have to push hard. In the card reader it is easy like before. At Walmart it was fine. Expert: Steve G. replied4 years ago. Ask Your Own Camera and Video Question Customer: replied4 years ago. One can go blind looking at those tiny pins! There is a pin that is bent. I wonder why the card reader which look okay is not reading it though. Expert: Steve G. replied4 years ago. The bent pin is the problem. It is supposed to make contact with one of the pins of the memory card.If it isn't, then it won't work. Now, y

Anyone got the definitive answer yet?JulianFri, 05 Feb 2010 21:21:02 +0000 Defect shutter release. The error code D: 3C85 is probably caused by a defect shutter release (shutter failure) (Google find DPreview.com). My cam sounds different too when making a shot. There is an extra click. This can be fixed by Olympus Service, but may be very costly.Normally the shutter should last for at least 50,000 releases (~pictures taken). Mine is broken after 9000 (4 years of use). I think it is cheaper to buy a second hand E510 or E520 body and throw the defect cam it in the bin.AlwinThu, 15 Apr 2010 19:53:28 +0000 I

Earlier I made a post saying I was able to recover images on an xD card ( http://www.fourthirds-user.com/forum...5332#post35332 ). That part was cool. But when I put the card back into the E-500 about all I can get is a "Card Error" notice. That's OK. I'll just reformat the card - in the camera - NO GO! When I tried to format the card using the menu all that showed on the screen was "BUSY_________________". The only way I could get out of this was to open the media door and remove the card. The camera was totally useless and unresponsive while "Busy". So I put in card #2 and viewed the images on the card, powered down and up and viewed the images again. I put card #3 in - Card Error. The card errors are a 1G and 2G Olympus xD card. The Fuji xD cards have not been a problem (fingers crossed; knock on wood). I've not had any problems using CF cards. My daughter uses her E-500 exclusively and uses CF cards exclusively without problems. I have several hundred dollars tied up in xD cards. I hate to think that Oly xD cards are defective. Am I doing something wrong? Anyone experience this with xD cards? lucian View Public Profile Send a private message to lucian Find all posts by lucian #2 29th May 2009 Ledgem Blue Drop J
