Car Cd Player Error
When I put any CD into my Car CD player, it tries to read the CD, cd player in car says error then the display says "ERR" and spits the CD back out. It is the stock CD player that came with the car. How do I my car cd player says error fix this? I cannot use a cleaning disc because it won't play the disc. What do I do? 17-08-2005 #2 AWILLIAMS64 MyCE Member Join Date: Nov 2004 Posts: 235 Re: Car Cd Player Error What kind of car

Why Does My Car Cd Player Say Error
Date: Nov 2004 Posts: 235 Re: Car Cd Player Error basically it is a gm radio so the best thing to do is go to a reputable car audio shop and have them put you on a new aftermarket radio. This should be able to be done under $200 for a decent one. The other option is to find a service shop that fixes factory radios, but this will cost probably just about as much for the labor of pulling the radio, getting it checked out and then fixed and reinstalled. Also if you buy a new one it will have a warranty on it...just my opinion....can you tell i work at a car audio shop?? __________________ I/O Magic 1655 gcab Benq 1620 b7w9...i think its broke!!!!! g replaced w/ a 1655 from benq !!!!BCGB sony (lite-on sohw-832s) cg5g plextor px-504a 1.02 17-08-2005 #5 insertlamename New on Forum Join Date: Aug 2005 Posts: 5 Re: Car Cd Player Error heh yeah I can tell. So there is no way to fix it? It did this before and a couple of days later I put a CD in and it played just like usual and it worked for about 4 months after that and now its giving me the error again. 17-08-2005 #6 AWILLIAMS64 MyCE Member Join Date: Nov 2004 Posts: 235 Re: Car Cd Player Error well you can pull out the radio and unplug it and that will

My 2004 Jeep Liberty CD player will not play CD's anymore. You can hear the CD spinning and spinning, but after about fifteen seconds, an error message comes up. I assumed the lens needed cleaning, so I purchased a CD lens cleaner and, you guessed it, it will not play that CD either. Duh! I have read that removing the radio fuses and then plugging them back in will "reset the CD player back to factory settings." I tried that, and all it did was set my radio's clock back to 12:00! I'm pretty sure the answer to the question is "that's a shame... buy a new car stereo." But if anyone has any bottom of the ninth, two outs suggestions, I would appreciate it. Thanks! Update: Ya Alex, I pulled mine out of the dash too... Problem is it looks like it will be like breaking into Fort Knox to get at the lens.... I'll probably end up over-paying for some car stereo joint to fix it. Either that, or probably end up breaking the thing. Thanks! taking it in, if I push it in, it throws it back. If I click on CDROM button, it says Error reading disk, though CD ia not inside. Is it gone bad now ? It can be fixed, but probably will be less expensive to replace the whole stereo. Check out www.crutchfield.com Good selection, reasonable prices, and all the tech support you will need if you cd player choose to attempt the job yourself. 2014rubyred3500 2014-01-05 19:39:55 UTC #5 that would be crutchfield.com. I second that decision. They are AMAZING to deal with and supply with everything you need to switch to aftermarket radio. They even supply a good print out of step by step instructions specific for your car with great pictures. Home car cd player made CDs did not always work in my 2000 Blazer. Another question, do you leave the CDs in the player? If I left a CD in the player overnight, the next day I would sometimes get an error message, especially on colder or damper nights. My best guess was that there was some condensation on the CD that was interfering with playback. Once the Blazer warmed up the CD player would start working again. Don't leave a CD in the unit overnight and try again the next day. Try a store bought CD if the home made one doesn't work. Ed B. abhisheks77 2014-01-05 22:25:02 UTC #8 Yes these are home made CD, but they worked for sometime before stopping.Yes, I left my CD inside drive. And at that time I was in Utah, it was 27 F temperature in night. So I can't fix it myself now ? knfenimore 2014-01-05 23:12:58 UTC #9 Had the same problem with my 99 Camry. I replaced the whole radio. My 09 Camry I use my phone plugged into the Aux port. Aux port is in the door below the radio in the center console. I put my whole CD collection on it and it a whole lot better than dealing with CD's. dagosa 2014-01-05 23:22:52 UTC #10 Try a CD with brush cleaner for laser lens. If it doesn't take it, it may need replacement . If you have to buy new, convert CDs t

Answers bandit10 05/29/08 8:52 pm PST Edit Answer (for another -9 minute) Try unplugging the power to the unit, then reinstall the connector. See if that does the trick. If not you might have to remove the CD player and open it up and see what's causing it to jam the CD in place. Pulling the fuse may be easier than finding the wiring powering the unit itself. There are some more ideas to try in the How to Remove a Stuck CD Guide, linked below.Unfortunately all these tricks seem to work better on single player CDs and don't work so well on CD changers.
