Toyota Rav4 Cd Player Error 1
on the car, the factory radio tries to read the cd for like 5 minz and then says error 1. i have to eject the cd like 100 times & load back in or sometimes even come back later in the hopes that it might read the cd. i've tried different brands of cd's & everything. called the dealer & the douche toyota cd player problems in there said since they most likely won't even look at it since the car had it's speakers upgraded..... at the moment i can't afford an aftermarket HU but would appreciate any feedbacks for a walkaround of this issue. Babar Moghal United States #4 Aug 26, 2008 I think the A8's play only original cd's, so if you were trying to play a ripped or a cd burned from the computer, it will give you that error. I tried that and my cd changer plays original cd's but not the ones ripped from a computer. I have an 07 PreRunner with OEM (A51837) 6 disc cd changer that started giving the "Error-1" message a couple days ago. There was nothing sparatic about it, just stopped working. I've read about the error relating to dirty/damaged disc but his is not the case, these are new discs (not burned). I have tried the resolutions below with no luck. Aside from replacing the unit, does anyone have any tips or knowledge on what the repair steps are for the unit? Or perhaps any further troubleshooting tips? -checked/cleaned discs -ejected & reinserted several times -disconnected battery for 10min -opened top of unit and manually cleaned lens Furthermore does anyone have an 07 OEM (A51837) for sale?
