Hope you all are well. Just got recall 15757 done today for my 01 Regal GS. Now if only a recall would come in for my faulty ignition switch. @ 00GrcyGtr : (14 http://www.gmforum.com/audio-aftermarket-electronics-101/cd-player-gives-e20-error-code-when-cd-inserted-284670/ September 2016 - 04:15 PM) Haven't been here in a while, my condolences to our lost member and his family. @ jmaechtlen : (10 September 2016 - 04:58 AM) thanks! funny that anyone selling rod inserts doesn't also offer the bolts, since you're supposed to replace the bolts whenever you take it apart. @ tippietoejoe : (07 September 2016 - 12:59 AM) forgot that the enter key sends rather than spaces between lines...lol http://www.regalgs.org/topic/51593-cd-problems-e20-error-description/ @ tippietoejoe : (07 September 2016 - 12:58 AM) http://www.wholesalegmpartsonline.com/products/Buick/2000/Regal4DRGS/BOLT-Engine-Connecting-Rod-Cap/3009850/25531956.html @ tippietoejoe : (07 September 2016 - 12:58 AM) you should be able to get rod bolts at the dealer. an error code of E20, this error occurs as soon as I place the CD in the player. I does not matter whether the CD is burned or one that was bought at the store. Any help would be greatly appreciated. AnswerThis is a general http://en.allexperts.com/q/Audio-Systems-835/E20-error-cd-player.htm error code that is telling you the player is defective. It can be caused by http://ls1tech.com/forums/general-maintenance-repairs/1089401-cd-player-error-code.html a weak laser diode inside the optical pickup of the player, a defective digital converter, a defective drive mechanism or just a badly misaligned optical pickup. Sometimes a reset will bring it back to life. To reset it you must remove power from the unit for 15 to 20 minutes. But doing so will remove the theft code as well (if your set cd player has the anti-theft feature - most new cars do) and so don't do this unless you have the code written down somewhere so you can enter it when the set is powered up again. To remove power you must disconnect the wires that feed the set, or remove it from the car temporarily or pull the 12v cable off the battery in the engine compartment. Normally, the cost of repair is quite high and unless the unit is a cd player error relatively new and quite expensive player you are most likely to be better off just replacing the unit with a new one. I know that isn't what you wanted to hear but that is the reality of the situation.
