a "force eject" function that's specifically designed to get CDs out when other methods have failed. Because this method doesn't require you to tamper with your CD player in any way, it's smart to start here - you have nothing to lose if it doesn't work. First, turn your car off if it isn't already. 2 While the car is off, hold the power and the eject button. Press your CD player's power and eject buttons down at the same time, holding them for about ten seconds. If your stereo has a "force eject" feature, it should spit out the CD. 3 If this doesn't work, start the car and try again. Some CD players may not function when the car is turned off. For these players, try pressing and holding the power and eject buttons while the car is running. 4 Consult the player's manual. The power + eject button combination is one common "force eject" command, but many CD players may require different button inputs to eject a stuck CD. If you still have it, consult your CD player's owner's manual, which should include information on this and other functions that can help you retrieve your CD. kind of a dumb question but I just got a CD stuck in my car's stock CD player. It wont play or anything. The cd player is pretty new and it is probably fine but how should I http://www.ecoustics.com/electronics/forum/car-audio/14776.html get the CD out? I dont want to pay a fortune to have it taken apart at the dealership. Please advise if you can. And just in case it helps, this is the stock cd player on a 2001 Jeep Wrangler. https://www.cargurus.com/Cars/Discussion-c97_ds37205 Thank you so much for your time. Have a great day! On some cd players cd player there is an small hole to the side of the cd opening. Poking this indent with the paper clip while pressing the eject sometimes works. If your car doesn't have this feature, you just have to poke the paper clip into the mechanism opening and risk damaging the cd to get it out. You either press the cd up or down while pressing the eject. Otherwise, go to the dealership and ask them how to take it out. I have only had car cd player this problem when someone else made me a cd and put a paper label on it. This is generally a bad idea, particularly for car insert cd players. The extra thickness from the paper label causes the problems you mention and makes one search the desk drawer for paper clips! BrittanyUnregistered guest Posted on Wednesday, April 07, 2004 - 02:12 GMTI just got a used 2002 Hyundai Elantra, and the CD player will not take in any CDs. It just makes a spinning noise and spits the CD back out. I really do not know anything about cars, and would really appeaciate any help! Chicobiker New memberUsername: RobertinchicoPost Number: 9Registered: Apr-04 Posted on Monday, April 12, 2004 - 00:22 GMTI had to extract a CD from my car that was warped from sun heat. I had to use a small pair of needle nose slim tip pliers. It damaged the CD, (not the unit) which was already a gonner. So be careful inserting those tweezers or needle nose into the player if you have an "opening" slot you can make such a surgical extraction. Eject Error sounds like the ejection mechanism is not working. Most car companies will exchange your stereo if it is still under warranty and when the old one is sent back, will take the CDs out when it is rebuilt and send them back to you. 2 out of 2 people think this is helpful. My solution will sound somewhat, well, improvised, but i keep in my cupholder an old plastic gift card (I've also used a bobby pin, but i recommend the gift card, it doesnt scratch the cds) and as soon as i hit eject and the little slot opens, i use the gift card to coax the cd out. If i fail to coax the cd out, it gets stuck and i get the same error message. 3 out of 3 people think this is helpful.
