Chevy Cd Player Err
WI #1 Sep 9, 2006 I own a 2000 chevy suburban. Whenever i put a 2001 chevy silverado cd player error cd in the player it gives me an "err" code. Everything else works fine. Im sure i just need to reset to system with a code from the dealer. However it seemed to be a fairly common problem and I just wanted to see if anyone knew any simple fixes! I was told then that the "err" code is generally an inability to read the media due to a failure of an electronic component or a misalignment of the lens. It would skip (like it was a bad CD), stop, and eject the disc with the ERR message. After the unit was warmed up enough, it would play just fine. They're not quality units in my opinion. It's possible yours really is toast, but I think that there's probably something that's gumming up the works in these things.
