A FIX?Just got a new car, a 2001 Mondeo, with the 6006E Radio Cd changer. Tried to load CD's and got the usual E4 message. So i looked on this site and found a soloution. 1. Remove the radio using the keys (got mine from dealer for free). 2. Remove all the cables. 3. Unscrew the top 2 screws. These are an odd sized star shaped screw head and i had to buy a screw driver from halfords, a Professional Screwdriver 60mm x T8 star. (£3.49). 4. Remove top cover. 5. Replace cables (dont put cover on) 6. Load a Disc. 7. Press Eject. 8. Disc will half eject itself and the arm with the laser led will remain visible. 9. Use a cotton bud and some regular camera or spactacle lens cleaner and gently clean the lens. 10. Reload the disc. 11. It shpuld now play. 12. Replace cover. 13. Push the Player back into the slot. I did this and it worked 1st time. This is much cheaper than goinf to Ford, who will charge you £200 to look at it and repair, however if the repairs are less than £200 they will give you the difference. I am in the UK, have a Focus Estate with Ford http://www.howtomendit.com/answers.php?id=71513 6006e six cd changer. it won't play CDs. Keeps coming up with error code E4. No-one in the UK seems to know how to fix it. Everyone just guesses. I have tried various things including removal / dismantling the unit and cleaning the laser (cotton bud, distilled water and other mild cleaners etc.) but no luck. Otherwise the unit works fine ..... insert / eject CDs and radio all working OK. Anyone know exactly what this error code means and how http://www.focusfanatics.com/forum/car-audio-sync-myford-touch-electronics/188665-cds-wont-play.html to fix it? Thanks for any/all suggestions. I know it's nice having a six-disk changer (I've got one myself), but since there are numerous audio units available that work just as well, and cost 1/10 as much as a new OEM unit, I'd say look into replacing the whole thing. A repaired changer will no-doubt fail again.....usually right after it gets fixed. When I worked at a dealer, we'd have to send the things out for repair. Th
