How To Fix A Dvd Player That Says No Disc
Published on Jan 12, 2015Marantz CD players with the Digital Servo Driver sometimes can't read CD's after some time of use. Often then it is thought that the laser output is too low but this is not always the case. Check for focus error gain like instructed in the video. For the CD67 I placed a 47k resistor across R112 to increase focus gain. Might also work for other players with the CDM12.1 or VAM1202 transport. Good luck. The turntable motor does not start after inserting the CD. But it is not a turntable motor problem, since the motor works perfectly (under test program conditions). Seems, that the pick-up does not recognize the CD. On the other hand, I do not have any problems with reading CDs, even CD-Rs. Any suggestions here? Also the Lens tries to focus. 23rd May 2006, 09:43 AM #4 tubenut diyAudio Member Join Date: Nov 2002 Location: South Africa, Jhb dodgy spindle motor?, what happens if you give it a little finger "push start" while laser tries to focus? __________________ Guillaume Croak Audio Exploration 23rd May 2006, 11:47 AM #5 poynton diyAudio Member Join Date: Mar 2005 Location: UK Quote: Originally posted by tubenut dodgy spindle motor?, what happens if you give it a little finger "push start" while laser tries to focus? CDM4 afaik spins before achieving focus, CDM9 focus before spin. __________________ Guillaume Croak Audio Exploration 23rd May 20
you are having difficulty with certain brands of CD-R, then my advice is to use the best quality discs. When burning http://www.petervis.com/CD_and_DVD_Players/marantz-cd6000-ose/marantz-cd6000-ose-cd-r-error.html these discs, always use the slowest burning speeds. My Friend Rufus... always burns http://howtomendit.com/answers.php?id=143936 his at the maximum of ×52 speed, thinking that he is clever, but he also makes many coasters. I find that burning discs at slower speeds such as ×8 or ×4 works much better. You get a more accurate burn and the laser has no problems tracking the disc. CD Errors cd player are always difficult to diagnose because sometimes the problem can be with the laser mechanism, spindle motor, or even the sled. If the CD player came from the second hand market then it is probably wise to run the internal diagnostic to make sure that all the components within the transport mechanism are working correctly. To enter into the Service Mode, you need to press how to fix [PLAY] + [OPEN / CLOSE] buttons simultaneously and turn the power on. The player should display the model number, microprocessor version, and the mode. Pressing the track NEXT button will shift the diagnostics through the successive testing modes. Consult the Service Manual for more information. Error Codes The Philips VAM 1201 CD Transport Mecha is able to provide the following error codes to help diagnose various problems.
