The radio, and display both work fine, but all of my CDs are stuck in there and won't eject from the changer. I tried pulling the fuse only to see the "LOCKED" message come up briefly and go back to "CD CHANGER ERROR" Supposedly it can also be fixed by holding eject while powering it off. That didn't work. So it took it to a car audio shop and they want $350 to fix the unit. At this price I have to know if there is a better way. I'm open to the idea of an single disc/aftermarket unit if I can still get my DIC info and use my ste

Anyone encounter this error message and http://www.passatworld.com/forums/mobile-electronics/193695-cdp-error-1-monsoon-what-do.html can I do something on my own to fix it? So, two weeks ago, CD's were skipping. Problem lasted for two days, and then all was fine. Less than a week later, Monsoon says "CDP Error 1" and ejects the CD. I reinsert and get the same message. I turn the power off, insert CD, then fine. Few days later, same error message, but turning HU off/on does not help. Been getting the same error message for two days straight now. Is the HU fried? Still under warranty, but I am sure VW will want to see it when it is not working properly. Intermittent problems are annoying. I have one particular CD that will never play. I put it in and a few seconds later the CD ejects it and gives the same error. All I do is push the track up and down buttons a bit while it's loading and it will play it. I think it's a CD with a ton of those hidden tracks, and maybe it confuses the CD player or something. Other than that, I haven't had any problems with HU. HTH. Share Share this post on Digg Del.icio.us Technorati Twitter Reply Repl
I'm hoping someone can help me before I have to purchase a new stereo system(which I definitely can't afford right now!). First, while listening to Cd's in the player, it starts to sound staticy, http://www.njfboa.org/forums/archive/index.php/t-15996.html almost like a radio station that doesn't come in. Then finally it will pop out http://www.camaroz28.com/forums/general-1967-2002-f-body-tech-46/err-message-monsoon-cd-player-291735/ the CD and Say "E20". Anyone have any idea what this could be? It's the stock monsoon stereo for a 2000 Pontiac Firebird Formula. At first it wouldn't work for about two days, and now it works sometimes, and then sometimes it doesn't. This happened directly after my car was sitting for 3 months straight. Any ideas what this cd player could be??? I'm thinking maybe moisture got in there, but I don't know how I could possibly fix that! Any help is appreciated, thanks! Alicia Brando5689403-07-2006, 03:30 AMmaybe the cds are dirty/scratched? sometimes mine would give me like e17 or e20 im not sure i think they might list some of them in the owners manual,if not im sure you could look it up online Midnite03-09-2006, 08:23 PMI tried looking it up online, no cd player error luck. Tried the manual, no luck. And it reacts the same way with every cd. Although I do think that its getting "healthier" these days. It's been acting up less! Alicia V03-12-2006, 02:23 AMc"E20 : Focus Error Cause(s): The CD player cannot focus on the disc or there is an internal focus problem. Correction(s): Try cleaning the disc or using a new disc. Make sure the disc is loaded correctly. The road could be too rough or there is too much humidity. If the problem is not corrected, service the unit at an ACDelco® Service Center." Hope that helps some. Possibly from sitting over the winter condensation built up in the car. I noticed that(humidity buildup) happening in my SS which has been parked since August so I put some moisture absorbing pouches in it to protect everything. BTW, where you ever at a Englishtown car show, like say 2 years ago? Its not often you come across a girl with an ls1 formula. V03-12-2006, 02:28 AMheres some more...
