Anyone encounter this error message and can I do something on my own to fix it? So, two weeks ago, CD's were skipping. Problem lasted for two days, and then all was fine. Less than a week later, Monsoon says "CDP Error 1" and ejects the CD. I reinsert and get the same message. I turn the power off, insert CD, then fine. Few days later, same error message, but turning HU off/on does not help. Been getting the same error message for two days straight now. Is the HU fried? Still under warranty, but I am sure VW will want to see it when it is not working prope

My double-din Monsoon CD player is broke. Everything else works, but the CD player. When I put a cd in and it trys to play it, the screen says Error 1 and pops the CD out. Does anyone know what the exact problem is? Error 1 = ? Now, I bought a new one from someone in the classifieds that did not have a radio code or correct serial number. I took his apart and swapped only the CD players and still got the error but I think I'll try it again with a different connection wire thingy. * NEED HELP TO REVIVE * Any

The radio, and display both work fine, but all of my CDs are stuck in there and won't eject from the changer. I tried pulling the fuse only to see the "LOCKED" message come up briefly and go back to "CD CHANGER ERROR" Supposedly it can also be fixed by holding eject while powering it off. That didn't work. So it took it to a car audio shop and they want $350 to fix the unit. At this price I have to know if there is a better way. I'm open to the idea of an single disc/aftermarket unit if I can still get my DIC info and use my steering wheel buttons somehow. As long as the next unit will sound just as good or better than the current stock unit. any help is appreciated. Last edited by JustinC7; 12-09-2010 at 10:06 PM. After digging around some of the other GM and VW sites (since both GM and VW use Monsoon radio gear), I finally came across a Pontiac Grand Am and a GM F-Body site that shows some common Monsoon errors. Here's the list (from the Grand Am site): E20 - Focus Error . This could occur if the disc is dirty, in rough roads or if the humidity is high. E21 - Tracking Error. (Tracking error can be caused by blemishes on the disc) E22 - Motor Error. The CD motor needs service. E23 - Communication Error E30 - Focus Error (Optics focus error may be due to moisture, upside down disc or empty cart) E31 - Tracking Error ( Tracking error can be caused by blemishes on the disc) E32 - Load / Unload motor Problem. E33 - CD Changer Communication Error. E34 - CD Changer Door Open E35 - Changer Cartridge Empty. Here's the common solutions for the E3x series of errors (from the F-Body site): E30 - Focus Error Cause(s): The CD player cannot focus on the disc or there is an internal focus problem. Correction(s): Try cleaning the disc or using a new disc. Make sure the disc is loaded correctly. The road could be too rough or there is too much humidity. If there is still an error, service the unit at an ACDelcoR Service Center. E31 - Tracking Error Cause(s): There is a problem with reading the disc. Correction(s): Try cleaning the disc or try using a new disc. Make sure the disc is loaded correctly. The road could be too rough or there is too much humidity. If there is still an error, service the unit at an ACDelcoR Service Center. E32 - Motor Error Cause(s): The CD motor is not handling the compact disc properly or defective magazine mounting screws are interfering with the mechanism. Correction(s): Reload the magazine. If there is still a problem, replace the magazine. If the problem continues, back out the mounting screws. If the condition is corrected, replace the screws with shorter screws or add washers to the existing screws. If this condition still exists, service the unit at an ACDelcoR Service Center.
