It will play for a while, then start to sorta skip, then just stop working. I can switch it to the radio for a few minutes and then switch it back to the CD and everything will work.... for a little while, until it does the skipping thing again. Anyone else had these problems before or know what to do to fix the problem? Are you playing burned discs or originals? Might want to try originals if you aren't and see if you still have the problem. Then you can narrow down the possible problems. I trust all was well with your http://www.tyresmoke.net/forum/topic/45491-passat-cd-changer-fault/ trip and the maf didn't mis-behave. Regarding the CD player, have you tried a lens cleaner in it? I don't know whether these would be any good for your head unit or not, as they have small brushes on which sweep the lens and clean it. However, the design of the CD loading system will possibly mean that you can't use one as it may jam when you try to load it. It does sound as though it's a lens problem though. The air meter I changed myself, not big deal really, everything went OK, a very long and tiring trip. Now yes I did think of cleaning the lenses and I hope that the changer is going to load the cleaning CD. Will see today as last night I was very tired to worry about the CD player. Thanks!! It played one CD once and that's it. Share this post Link to post Share on oth

(amp, 6 disk changer) I was listening to a cd today (like i always do) and then suddenly it stopped. I looked down at the head unit and it said "CD ERROR". What does this mean? I tried turning it off and on. I even took the cds out of the changer and then put them back in. Nothing worked. Has anyone ever had this problem? I'm lost as to what to do. Have an "Error 2" and it ejects the cd. Even new cd's are ejected. Anyone have a source as to what the error codes mean. Any help is appreciated. Thanks. Our 05 golf has also done this lately, sometimes error 1 or error 2, but later in the day it seems to work fine, it does not have multiple c
