and worked fine), by extracting the image contents (luckily I have no folder conflicts), extracting the boot code and using easyboot to make a new image, and UBCD4 now gives me something like this: "isolinux: image checksum error, checksum error witcher 3 sorry..." Is there a way to trick the system to boot? (somehow ignore different checksum or something) Thanks in advance. Also, how come and UBCD4 is so much smaller than UBCD3.4? Was the overhead so different? _________________--- NLS Top Constance Post subject: Posted: Tue Mar 13, 2007 7:10 pm Joined: Fri Sep 23, 2005 1:21 amPosts: 338Location: France If I remember well, Insert has been removed starting from version 4. That may explain checksum error on boot the big size difference. _________________Hammerite Compendium of Precepts, Regimens and Rules of Conduct, Vol. 113 : A stroke of thy chisel, once made, canst be undone, but a stroke thou dost not make from fear is a worse flaw. I am impressed with the features. But unfortunately I am not able to install because my downloaded iso image shows checksum error . I tried 3 times (from different mirrors) and in all cases my burning was successfull. But when I tried to boot, I got the message 'iso linux 2.04 (Debian 2003-06-06) isolinux : image checksum error, sorry boot failed' Please help. 02-02-2008,12:08 PM #2 amac Untangle Junkie Join Date Aug 2007 Posts 822 I https://forums.untangle.com/networking/1636-iso-image-checksum-error.html think I remember people having issues with burning at faster speeds... what settings are you burning at. And what hardware are you trying to install on? 02-02-2008,07:04 PM #3 vinodsilicon Untanglit Join Date Feb 2008 Posts 22 I burned at 16X once and tried at 10X also. I use Intel Dual Core 3.0 GHz with 512 MB RAM and 40 GB HDD. I think hardware is not the issue because even I am not able to boot from the CD. Is there any way to check the checksum of the downloaded image ? Thanks.. 02-02-2008,08:10 PM #4 vinodsilicon Untanglit Join Date Feb 2008 Posts 22 Issue has been solved. I burned at 8X and it booted . My MD5 checksum was 0296ab40a520ac1a3f532a5e3105f690. (It may help others). 02-04-2008,05:45 AM #5 mdh Join Date Aug 2007 Posts 4,790 Another testament to the downside of better technology..... 02-14-2008,10:26 AM #6 skider86 Untangler Join Date Nov 2007 Posts 90 Originally Posted by mdh Another testament to the downside of better technology..... It is really easy to do this with the freely available MD5Summer (Windows platform) and can eliminate questions about the validity of a burned CD. «

The boot image isolinux.bin expects to get patched by some parameters, including a checksum. See man mkisofs http://cdrecord.berlios.de/private/man/cdrecord/mkisofs.8.html paragraph "EL TORITO BOOT INFORMATION TABLE" Do i get it right that checksum error sorry "makehybrid" is a shortcut for hdiutil makehybrid as of https://developer.apple.com/library/mac/documentation/Darwin/Reference/ManPages/man1/hdiutil.1.html There seems to be no option for above feature. Programs which can produce compliant ISO images are: program="mkisofs" program="genisoimage" program="xorriso -as mkisofs" Use one of them instead of your ISO production command: cd temp $program \ -o ../isos/muaaa.iso \ -b isolinux/isolinux.bin \ -c isolinux/boot.cat \ -no-emul-boot -boot-load-size 4 -boot-info-table \ -J \ -V "Custom Installer" \ . I read in man hdiutil that -eltorito-platform gets a parameter like 0. How come yours gets the name of the boot catalog ? I downloaded the ESXi ISO, burned to a cd, and tried to boot from it. When I do, I get the following error: ISOLINUX 3.63 2008-04-10 isolinux: Image checksum error, sorry... Boot failed: press a key to retry. Anyone know of a way to fix this? I'm running this off of a PowerEdge 2600. It cannot boot from a USB device. Thanks! 1561Views Tags: none (add) This content has been marked as final. Show 4 replies 1. Re: Help Installing ESXi: Image checksum error mittell Mar 7, 2009 8:34 AM (in response to RedlightG20) Have you tried booting the disc in an alternative server? Sounds like a bad ISO download (check the MD5 against the one on the download page) or a dodgy CD burn. Like Show 0 Likes (0) Actions 2. Re: Help Installing ESXi: Image checksum error RedlightG20 Mar 7, 2009 9:29 AM (in response to mittell) That was the problem--seemed like just a bad cd burn. The MD5 checked ok. I re-burned the cd using Nero at a lower speed... that seemed to do the trick.Thank you both for your help!
